A mobile phone scammer in action now!!

Looks a genuine enough listing but this phone has only just been released, and sim free they are in excess of £500.

Looking at the sellers feedback it's built up of ebooks.

It's a new seller registered within last 30 days, there is no paypal protection logo, and the only way you are protected according to the listing is to check their feedback... so click on the 50 next to the sellers name, and look what appears - 5 glowing feedbacks from other buyers but sadly none relate to this item.

There is a serious flaw in the eBay system if this can be allowed to carry on. At the time of writing 15 people have bought one of the phones, netting nearly £5.5k in the last 2 days for the seller - WITH NO COMEBACK THROUGH EBAY BUYER PROTECTION!!

If enough people complain about the tactics employed here something may be done about this and the auctions pulled if Ebay/Paypal are willing to make the correct judgement

    Reporting Inappropriate Trading Behaviour

The eBay Investigations team tries to resolve reported cases of inappropriate trading behaviour. We will consider the circumstances of an alleged offence and the user's trading record before taking action. Disciplinary action may range from a formal warning up to indefinite suspension of a user's account. However, to be fair to all members, if a complaint cannot be proven with certainty, eBay will not take action.

A huge giveway is also having featured, highlighted and bold titles, for the cheaper items, such as games. And of course the feedback made up of ebooks. I know ebay do restrict accounts that are made up of ebooks, but it can easily get unrestricted within a few days, after emailing them. All you can do, is go onto each link, report the item for being fraudlent and explain your reasons. if enough people do it, hell likely be NARU'ed. Another good tactic, is to report him for using false contact details. He's obviously scamming, so hes probably using false name address and tel no's unless their stupid. let's hope he NARU'ed soon.

You all seem to be missing something. Yep he's only got 50 feedback made up from Ebooks and selling 50 phones stupidly cheap over Easter where there's 4 days to cash in and won't be posting anything.... BUT there's no proof or evidence that there's anything going on, if you were to report each auction for being fraudulent do you think Ebay would pull it with no proof?

But its not just one make of phone, they have 9 auctions all selling multiples (upto 50) on each phone and game. I will watch this seller with interest and see if the gut feeling i have comes true in a few days and maybe comment further one way or the other.

So not only have they got the N95 listed, but also 50 Prada Lg phones, another 50 Nokia N73's, a batch of 50 Sony W850i's, 2 dozen X-box 360's and various x-box 360 games

By my reckoning they has lifted nearly £20k in sales in the last 36hrs... How many cheques are already in the post and internet bank transfers completed?

It's a scam on a pointy stick - yes, plenty of buyers will cancel or pull out, but for a weekends work, they have certainly made a packet.

I have even reported this through to eBay live help in the USA earlier this afternoon, and the listings are still there.

I thought this was "moneysavingexpert forum"?! Not "letslookatscammersthroughrose-tintedglasses forum"?!! Too many people will have the same opinion as you, and they are now a few hundred quid lighter in the pockets!!

I see these listings every day, but normally they are pulled within an hour or so of reporting - but eBay Custard Support are enjoying the festive break whilst the scammers have a field day or 4!

Not if you empty your Paypal account quick enough though . I might be wrong though , someone else will confirm it though if I am correct .

Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
