Hi
Im a bit
and wondered if someone could help?
I received my homephone bill from Tesco this morning (dated 20 March 07)and looking at the charges I see I am due to pay £57. 73 for the period of 19 December 06 - 18 March 07. But I also received a bill from them (dated 6 February 07) last month for £65.40 for the stated period of 17 August 06 - 18December 06. Last month they also informed me they would be changing bills and payments to monthly not quarterly.
The statements also dont add up as the majority of my calls are free as they are to other Tesco Homephone subscribers, and its not as if I we use the phone that often theres just my husband and I no children.
We have also changed our phone number with BT just prior to switching landline due to nuisance callers. However wehave settled our final bill with BT already.
I also recently switched my line rental to Tesco from BT as there was little differencein cost yet I get clubcard points! Im on option 3 by the way if that adds to the equation.
Im confused have I been charged twice? Any suggestions before I take it up with BT?
Thanks
Heddwen.

I am not surprised that you are paying over £65 a quarter. The Tesco package you are on costs monthly £11 line rental +£ 9.87 option 3 call package,x 3 = approxs £63 plus if you have got caller display they will be charging you for it unlike BT.
Out of interest why are you paying £9.87p for the option 3 call package,if you mainly call other Tesco Talk users, when Tesco Talk FREE option 1 includes calls to other Tesco home phone customers at no extra charge.

Hi
I am hoping someone can advise me if I have a right to complain about my Tesco Homephone billing recently.
I signed up to Tesco Homephone back in August last year (06) and then also transferred my landline to them in February of this year (07).
I have been paying Tesco calls Tesco Talk 3 on a monthly Direct Debit since signing up in August.
Yet I received a bill last month for £65.40 for the period of 17 August - 18 December 06 and another bill this month for £57.73 for the period of 19 December 06 - 18 March 07.
I called them up today and asked them why I had received 2 quarterly bills in 2 consecutive months and was told "because we have been up-grading our billing system so we fell behind with the billing and statemets. We do appologise for this inconveinience!"
Then the customer services advisor started to go through my bill trying to explain it in detail. They then said "As from next month you will go onto our new monthly billing, which is what delayed our updates" I asked aproximately how much this would cos me on average billing per month and she guess-timated around £20.87 per month plus any additional call charges not included in the package 3 'anytime' option"
I am
as to why I have been paying DDeach month and still get a bill. I am  I have had 2 high bills for 2 quarterly periods (thats 8 months worth) over 2 months! I cannot really afford such costs even if they will soon be rectified.
Why do I have to put up with such service as its not my fault or problem their so slow?
Do I have a right to complain and who to - any advice on this issue would be helpful.
Many thanks.

Why do you find it necessary to open another another thread on the same subject, you have already posted about, and recieved good advice about cutting your bill in the future.

Because not ALL the people I call are with Tesco Homephone some of these people prefer me to call them on their mobiles and others live a long way away from me (not abroad just Wales). Its just the local people I call most often (when I chose not to text them via my mobile). We have to have the option 3 'anytime' package as its als used for business calls as my husband works from home and at the moment Tesco Homephone do not offer a 2nd incoming number with callsign, which BT do but they charge extra line rental for it even though its an incoming call.
Thanks
I dont have caller display, neither do I have the 1571 as we have an answerphone and our telephone automaticaly displays the number without being charged.0 -
Hello hurrah
My appologies for doing this! I opened a second thread as I had realised the mistakes I had made from the previous thread. The previous thread was about being charged twice but on clearing my head and closer inspection I realise the dates for the periods charged were not the same.
In this thread I am asking if Tesco Homephone ca do this to me - I consider this a new question. I have taken consideration to the advice in the other thread for future use thank you, but at present am tied in with Tesco Homephone for various reasons I wont go into else there will be many more of threads!
Again I am sorry for any trouble I have caused you reading my threads andapreciate your opinions and input.
Happy Easter!!

Thanks for the advice.
Please ignore this thread post as I have made a mistake. I have another post entitles Tesco Homephone - can I complain which deals with a similar issue to this.
Appologies for the confusion AND ALMOST double posting (except its not cos the otherone deals with same subject and bills just a slightly different issue).
Thanks

Hi
Sorry the last post I made got moved or deleted. So I have to ask again (appologies).
Im sure the DD is going to be returned unpaid by my bank and then the bank will charge me for the service!
I am hoping someone can advise me if I have a right to complain about my Tesco Homephone billing recently, and get a refund if the bank charges me?

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
