ALDI Combo Microwave £59.99p [CLOSED]

Options
Just seen this offer from ALDI (7th April). Stainless Steel Combination Microwave/grill/oven.

It says housing is 'Stainless Steel'. Don't know if that means outside, inside or both. I pesonally prefer enamelled outer (looks better) and stainless steel inner (no enamel to peel off).

  • 1200 watt grill
  • 10 convection oven power levels (140ºC-230ºC)
  • 2 grill and microwave combination levels
  • 8 automatic programmes
  • Defrost function
  • 95-minute digital timer
  • 24-hour digital clock
  • Child lock
  • Rotary glass tray
  • Non-stick baking plate
  • Grill rack
  • Stainless steel housing
  • Weight: approx. 21kg
  • Size: approx. 55cm (L) x 31cm (D) x 39.5cm (H).

You can bet that the interior is not stainless steel if it says the "housing" is! A sad case of style over substance - it would be much better if the interior was stainless, as you say. Stainless on the outside is using an expensive material for no benefit other than fashion.

Well, I'm still using my 25 year old Brown Panasonic 600w Microwave.

Other half moans every time I fix it.

Might be tempted but then again....

Incidentally - It cost me a whopping 600 quid from Dixons. It was top of the range tho.

They are selling the same one in Argos with a Delongi badge and a £90 price tag, well over £100 if you include a extended warranty !

Although the Aldi one says 850W and Argos 1000W.

My ancient 25030 year old Philips is on it's last legs, may be tempted.

It is not the same one.

The Aldi one seems to have a better spec as the Grill is higher power and it weighs an extra 2Kg.

I am very tempted to get this :D

    The interior is stainless steel.

Works a treat although the outer case does get very hot when the fan oven has been on for the 20 minute initial setup cycle.
