Hi
I've a contract with 8 months free line rental that I need to claim back in months 4,8,12,15 and 18 I think.
I tried to claim my first £50 odd, rang there Customer Services to check the procedure and they advised that photocopies were acceptable.
The claim has now been refused, plus all following claims, due to the rules stating original copies only
I have emailed and tried to ring them, but nothing has happened.
Any advise or similar situations?
Thanks,
Dave

When I claimed my cashback with this lot I had to send original bills which they returned. I had very little problem in getting my cash back. Was about 18 months ago tho.
Thinking about it they gave me some paperwork when i got my phone saying I had to send in original bills to claim my cash back.0 -
I have been told that online bills are fine for the cashback claim. This the only sensible since the phone bill can take upto ten days to arrive in the post and considering that they now only allow 14 days to make the claim.0

I've emailed a complaint and had nothing back yet
Now i've found and checked the paperwork, it does say originals only, but the day I posted they said copies were ok. Only prob is, I dont have any proof of this conversation, or even a name to quote
Will keep you posted.

Dave i think u r right.
within these phone companies (not all of them) some staff do or say things that doesn't match their T&Cs of their organisation, and then the customers are the ones to face the consequences ! ?
Did you hav proof of posting i mean when you send an origonal bill and it goes missing, and if you ring them then, they might accept photocopies ? would they not
cause then you can say that the origonal's gone missing
any way the day you post the bill and few days after it gets there it's kind of 10-21 days. for the bill to be on their system as received. incase it goes missing it would be too late to send another (i hate it)If electricty comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?0 -
I sent it recorded delivery and they have acknowledged they received copies and not originals.

so send them or ask them that if you can send them the recept of the posting that you have sent the origonals to them and it's gone missing
and that is why you sent the copies. If electricty comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?0 -

I'd already owned up that I have the originals here and I sent them copiesThe annoying part is that I only did what I was advised by them over the phone, I made the mistake of not getting a name too
They emailed back yesterday saying that it was too late and all later claims are now void! She also implied that my conversation never took place!0 -

even though with them if i miss 1 payment i still get my future payments.
so from now on i'm going to stick to the origonals, you in a way help me to aoid the situation you've been,

Just a though David. Did you call them from your home line? Maybe their number will show on your itemised bill and you can prove you called them (although not what they said).
I'd threaten them with a small courts claim......0
