Cant claim credit for this, as i found it on another board....
Dell have reintroduced extra cash discounts for the end of March. This makes some attractive offers such as the Dell Inspiron 510M for only £422 including VAT and shipping. This lowest priced option is a Celeron M processor but for only £52 more you can upgrade to a Pentium M 1.5GHz with a 2MB L2 cache for higher performance.
Features:
Dell Inspiron 510M
1.3GHz Celeron M
256MB 333mhz DDR RAM
40GB hard drive
CDRW/DVD combo drive
15" XGA Screen
802.11b Intel Pro Wireless Wifi
Windows XP
Go to https://www.dell.co.uk, into small business then enter the following e-value code: 305 N035M5 (first section in first box, second section in second box). Change Enhanced Service Pack to 1 Year Collect and Return.

How easy is it to buy & upgrade the RAM on Dell laptops after purchase?
£94 seems like a lot of cash for an extra 256mb.
Crucial offer a 256 mb chip at £27.61 incl postage. (see the discount code board for 4% off) Potential saving against dell's £94 upgrade is £66.39. They also have a 512 mb chip at £54.04 (postage paid) less 4%.0 -
There is £100 off the standard price and free delivery for another two days (i think) so thats worth a further £57. I gave around £580 for mine a months ago so that sounds about right. Also for a few quid more than some of the basic machines that are on the go, you are getting a very decent machine.
Not sure on the pros and cons of the extra RAM. I bought mine with a standard 256Mb and the spec if perfect for surfing and word processing and watching the odd DVD - though i am sure that is by no means stressing the machine.0 -

It's very easy to upgrade - just open up a little flap underneath & slot in the memory.
Dells memory / accessory prices are extortionate - that's how the clawback the profits on the low base spec prices.EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0 -
I want to buy this today but the website keeps coming up with a price of £645?
How can I get this at the £421.99 price (as advertised?)
The code in this thread doesn't seem to work!

Did you remember to go for the basic warranty of 1year?
I just tried going through the process (just to see) and ended with 1.5 Pentium M 715a processor system for £474.44
I used the code given by pgilc1 by the way which worked (follow instructions in first post)0 -
There's a further 2% discount available on Dell purchases.
