The thread from when this was last at £39.95 is > here <.

Fingers crossed that thread already has the answers to everyone's questions about ink, cables and so on!
  • To make this an even better offer, go to this page, and use the code EM0002

    http://www.brother.co.uk/g3.cfm/s_page/77630

you get a choice of either
    1 - a 2 year extension on your warranty
    2 - a label printer
    3 - a usb memory stick

    2 years extra sounds great.

    I'd avoid like the plague.
The ink refills cost a fortune - more than the printer!

it's a great printer. I've had one for about 8 months (paid about the same price, at PC World, plus Nectar points), and just changed the ink a couple of weeks ago. Found a seller on ebay doing sets of the 4 cartridges for £4.99. postage was much the same as every other supplier on the net I checked; and if you get multiple sets, it's even better.
12 cartridges would come to £23

    This was the seller:

but I guess there could be even better ones around...

I guess using non-Brother supplies could affect the warranty, but my computer engineer brother in law assured me there's no other reason to use "approved" supplies

I bought one yesterday from Argos and received then DCP 310CN which is a better model with built in networking, I read loads about this printer yesterday and it gets rave reviews from the users and the inks are some on the cheapest according again to the users of it

    Go for it...!

I just received that one, only noticed when I was loading it in the car, all networked up now all the other pcs in the house now can print or scan through the network, it dosent need a "host" pc to be left on to do this either.

Very pleased with it and the scanning/print out quality and Im a computer engineer of 16 years

In fact having looked at his current listings you can actually buy 24 carts for £32.99 inc postage, and you can choose your quantity of each colour. 12 would be £18.99 inc postage.
