As you can see, I'm the first on the naughty step this week - warming it up for the next person :rotfl: I will stick with the £25 for the week again and hope to make it this week!

Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier! Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go! The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anythng else.

The reason the challenge is up to Friday is that I like to give myself a day off the counting and let my hair down a bit

Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!!

Moozie x

PS Rog2.....hope you are OK x

  • Morning Moozie,

Didn't do very well last week. Budgeted £20, actually spen £30!!!! I've got £10 in my purse for this week. The kids are on half-term so no money there and I'm only in work 4 days so I should be OK.

I didnt do too bad last week, didnt keep in buget though :o

I spent £37 in total last week - but had birthdays at work to put in for and unfortunately a friend at work had lost her twins she was expecting, so we had a collection for the SANDS charity.

I will allow a little extra this week. £50 to inlclude petrol and extras!

    Hello Moozie, and thanks!

I budgeted £60 last week and spent £56.63. It was a real eye opener though. I spent far too much in Asda, and in a normal week would have just taken that "little bit more" out of the bank to get by on.

Today will be a NSD. I will also stick to my £60 budget for the coming week, hopefully with less than 3/4 of it to be spent in Asda!

:j woohoo moozies coming to my house!....and by the looks of it so far with lots of company :rotfl:

well today i'm planning a nsd. normally on a sunday i spend 49p on a bag of crisps in asda as my treat for the week while watching 24....but i don't think i deserve it this week, not been my bestest has it? :(

as for the rest of this week, in an effort to fix myself somewhat i'm giving myself a budget of £20 to last me till friday (payday). i have a night out on wedesday and this is included in that. think the best plan of action is that i don't leave the house all week!

have a good day all, keep :D

    xxx

edited to add...just forgot my dad's coming up at some point to help me sort out a bit of diy, so i may have a bigish spend in bnq...now either i don't count this as budget or i blow the budget badly...i shall look on it as an investment!

I feel really pretentious when I look at others in the list and see others whose budget is a lot less.

You guys do a really great job, and I have a lot of respect for you since I could never do that.
  • Morning all,

Last week I budgeted £20 and spent £17.70p so am pleased with that :j

It is pay day on Thursday and I have holiday from work on Friday so will budget a little more this week, so £30 it is :D

    Today will be a NSD.

    Have a good day all

  • Oh dear. So, for about the third week running I have blown the budget quite dramatically! Hmmm.

Half of me thinks I should "step away from the challenge" for a while but the other half knows that's just a cop out. I wonder if I have been totally realistic with my budget setting originally or if I am just reverting back to my old forgetful ways as I just keep, err, forgetting, about stuff I need!

Anyway, I set the budget of £60.....and spent £83.88

    RUBBISH eh?

I have been including spends for every day of the week as well, not just Sunday to Friday. This week I will do it differently because I am away for the weekend and will *have* to spend money Friday night, Saturday & Sunday (food & drink) and I have no idea what it will be (although I will try to keep it low).

So, totalling up the cheques I wrote yesterday (I can't ignore them!) and what I will need to spend to get top up groceries, I think my new budget will be £150.

As for today, I am aiming for a NSD however I *may* have to sneak across the road for some biscuits later as BF is going out for the afternoon so I might snuggle down on the sofa to watch an old Bette Davis film on DVD with tea & naughty snacks! :)

Wow - sorry for the ramble...I'm sure there's a thread elsewhere for that isn't there ;)

  • No spend day today!

i'm going to have a go at this challenge. I need to get the fridge and freezer emptied before the end of Thursday so if I don't have it, I'm not buying it!

No bills to pay, no petrol needed. No excuses really.

Right then, put me on the list for £10. I'll put it in my purse and see how I get on.

Finally, a NSD for me!! I think this is a first in a long long time. However, am going to have to ask to borrow flat shoes for work and if I can't I'm not sure what I'm going to do - won't find out til the shops are closed later eek.
