How to sell foreign (US NYSE) shares?

Hello

Please can anyone tell me how to go about selling some US shares that are listed on the NYSE, we have the share certificates. I have asked Lloyds, Halifax and Nationwide but they only deal in UK shares. The value is around £2500 so I hope the charges won't be too high.

Ask Selftrade or TD Waterhouse if they will trade the shares for you.

If Selftrade do trade that particular share, they would charge you £12.50. However, they do have a referral scheme which means you could get a minimum of £50 for joining them, if you are referred by an existing customer.

I am not sure what TD Waterhouse charge.

I had this 'problem' a little while ago. None of the UK brokers would deal with NYSE certificates. In the end I setup an account with a US firm called lowtrades.com and have since sold my holding.
