You might want to be notified about replies to topics you are interested in. This is called Subscriptions.
Subscribe to a thread
If you would like to be notified about replies to a thread, you can find the option under Thread Tools when viewing any thread:
You will then be asked how often you would like to be emailed:
You will know you are subscribed to a thread by the tick
next to the thread name in the board's index.

Automatic Subscriptions
You can choose to have threads you have started, or replied to, automatically added to your subscription list.
Click Quick Links then Edit Options (or Click Here) and you will be able to change setting in the Messaging & Notification box:
IMPORTANT NOTE
This only changes your setting for future automatic notifications. The subscriptions you already have on your subscription list will remain unchanged. To change them see below.

Viewing Subscriptions.
You can view all threads you are subscribed to by going to Quick Links and then Subscribed Threads1. You can create folders to store your subscriptions in by using this option
2. Tick the subscriptions you would like to change (for use with menu 3)
3. You can change the subscription with the use of this menuTip: It might be sometimes useful to tick No email notification rather than Delete Subscription. That way you will still see a thread you're interested in has been replied to recently (it will go to the top of your subscription list)

Subscribe to a Board
As well as subscribing to threads, you can subscribe to a board:Boards you have subscribed to are listed when you select User CP:
Even if you do not want to be notified by email about changes to boards, you may still want to subscribe and select No email notification.
This way you will have quick access to your favourite boards simply by clicking User CP
