EasyJet-anyone have the web link for paying extra APD tax?

Hi, I must be the only person in the World who wasn't aware that the airlines were asking people to stump up the extra £5 p.p for APD tax. I have not received an email from Easyjet giving the web link and the BBC news says I have until monday to sort it!
I wanted to avoid the 35min queues on Easyjet's "national rate" phone service. Could anyone be kind enough to post the weblink to the payment area for this extra tax?
Thanks,
John

    I've been Money Tipped!
Try logging onto your account on the easyjet site.
Did you book pre tax announcement ????

  • I've got 3 different bookings with easyjet leaving stansted in February - 1 of which I have had notification that I need to pay the tax on and I have done so - I've gone into the other 2 bookings and also cannot find any link for paying the extra tax.

So any link would be appreciated
  • I booked all 3 in September - so well before the tax announcement

Hi mungo the links are individual to your particular booking reference and the e-mail address you use to login to your easyjet account (although if you had your booking confirmation sent to a different e-mail address, any link you might have received would be wrong anyway). Here is the format of the link:

    h**p://easyJetmail.com/cgi-bin2/DM/y/eeOd0JGdl20NuI0BSJv0E2&l=EN&bookref=INSERTBOOKINGREFHERE&email=INSERTEMAILADDRESSHERE

I've had to remove the 'tt' in http so the whole link is visible.

I think these charges are only applicable on return flights - although don't quote me on this. I booked 3 seperate flights with easyjet in October, one return and two singles. I have only received an email for the return flight booking, not the other two.

Maybe someone else can confirm if this is the case?

  • Thanks to everyone for your replies and especially to O_T_E for the weblink. That worked a treat and I'm now all paid up!
Lynsey, unfortunately when you log in to your account in the normal way thru the easy jet site, there is no mention of a link to pay the extra tax.Nor is there anything in the News section of the site. Poor show easyjet!
Sorry I can't help with the question on single flights as mine is a return (booked after the 6th December).
    Thanks,
    John

  • I have no problem with paying the tax myself (OK, I feel it's poorly thought out by the chancellor since freight flights aren't being charged and it's just gonna create yet another rich/poor gap) but I do agree that airlines should not be getting the tax cuts that they have been getting away with.

But enough of that, more importantly I'd like to say that I have received NO EMAIL AT ALL and was only able to pay via the link from this thread - so a huge thank you o_t_e you've literaly saved my holiday! I saw news headline an hour ago when I checked my Yahoo email, searched around the Easyjet website - found nothing, and decided that MSE would save me.

Do you think there is any way MSE might be able to send out an emergancy email to newsletter subscribers? I know it's supposed to be up to the airlines, but there's obviously alot of money savers out there who haven't had the email and are gonna be hurt if they don't pay by tomorrow.

    Thanks again
    Joe
