I have just spent a frustrating evening trying to find posts I have read previously.
Surely with all the well proven Techies on this thread something could be done to improve the search engine on what is otherwise a brilliant site.

I find the search engine here to be dire, so I just type in the key words, or title if I remember it + moneysavingexpert
Or if it is something you want to keep an eye on, you can subscribe to it using the forum tools on the top left hand side of the first post.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
I use Google. If you type in
your search phrase here site:moneysavingexpert.com
then it will just search moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Its not this websites fault its Vbulletin forums in general, although they are without a doubt the best type of forum model, the search funtion is as wanty says - dire0

Theres a guide to searching here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=325723#post325723
But you may already have seen it. Search words must be at least 4 characters long but you can search for 3 letter words using an asterisk, e.g. dvd*

Hello All,
The search is something we are looking at improving, as mentioned earlier the vbulletin search is "ok" however, we are now reaching 4 million posts and it is starting to struggle to pull out the best.
Please hold tight and hopefully soon we will have a better solution to the issue.
Thanks
