Having been inspired by a post on another thread, I was wondering about makes and dos for Valentines.
Anybody have any fab ideas?
I have a simple card idea:
A plain piece of blank card (folded!) and red tissue paper. Rip into small pieces (tissue paper) and scrunch up individual bits. Simply glue in a love heart shape in the centre of the card and stick the scrunched bits in the heart shape. Voila! Simple and easy for the kids to do for Dad!

I put them in a nice wooden box lined with paper doilies. They were really pretty and he was very pleased with them - might do it again this year, come to think of it

Idea from the Tightwad Gazette (I think) - get up before your beloved and write Valentine's message in lipstick on the bathroom window.
I'd add a reminder to the kids to 'clean your teeth !'0 -
I've made a baby. All going well, that'll be our gift to each other!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Just a thought, I know lots of people make their own old style gifts at christmas and birthdays but just wondered if anyone was making anything for valentines. If so some ideas would be lovely - I'm doing a meal at home for us instead of going out and i'll make it three courses and lay the table nicely, have candles etc but i'm sure there are some other old style and cheap but valued alternatives to the cheap and tacky stuff in the shops.:heart2::heart2::heart2::heart2::heart2::heart2::heartsmil#118 DFW Debt freely Christmas 2012 Challenge0

Hum,mmmmmm Might make OH some truffles. Although as he has forgotten valentines for the last 3 years (he used to make a big thing of it!) this year I've told him that I want to go out for a meal, I've given him the phone numbers of various restaurants and I've told him that if he can't manage this (cost isn't an issue this month - phew!) then he could (with a bit of imagination) surprise me with a carpet picnic at lunchtime! Bet I get a cup of coffee!!!!
Got his card today, but like the idea of truffles as I would like to give something of me - ie my time, which I think is important!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0
