I'm going to do a three course indian meal all HM of course with whoopsied naan bread! And some vodka chilli cocktails thrown in too. Just found a box of indoor fireworks that I bought for new Year but never used - think we might try them!!! Kids are away for the evening so we'll get them all to ourselves!! Although not very money saving if we burn the house down.:rotfl:
I'm going to use a wine bottle as a candle holder and maybe even some pretty jars with tea lights.
I like the idea of the truffles as a gift but I suspect I'll end up eating them all anyway as usual#118 DFW Debt freely Christmas 2012 Challenge0 -
Poundland had some heart shaped silicon muffin cases a couple of weeks ago.
I'm going to print off some valentine themed paper, and wrap up a bar of cabury's fruit and nut - his favourite.0 -
I am going to re-use last years valentines card and write another soppy message elsewhere on the card....and do him a steak dinner if i'm not in labour, but if i am this will be his first born so can't beat that as a present.0

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread to give you more ideas.
There may well be more threads on the Special occasions Board, too:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Truffles is a nice idea. I made some for my boyfriend using this recipe: http://bakecupcakes.blogspot.com/2010/12/chocolate-whiskey-truffles-christmas.html Delicious... I actually did the test batch last week, just to make sure the recipe is right
Yes, it is right... And just to make sure I don't eat all of them alone, I made my housemates to try quite a few as well. Less calories for me
:D
However, making them shaped like hearts, which was my first idea, failed. Forming shapes from chocolate melting from the heat of your hands is too complicated
I decided on making chocolate, because my boyfriend told me about Japanese holidays and on Valentine's day girls make chocolates for boys they really likeSounded like a plan. I am sure he will love the effort, at least. I also have a nice box to put them in, ribbons, etc.
