Anyones decs gone up and come down the same day?

Ours have. mrs teb was out shopping so i thought i'd be helpful and get all the decs out of the loft and start putting them up. seems you cant put the decs up until the windows are clean and the curtains have been washed and the couch stripped and covers washed and ALL surfaces have been thoroughly dusted and every corner hoovered.

decs are back in the loft until the weekend when operation clean will be over.

men never make things as complicated.

I must be a man then:eek: the great thing about christmas decorations is that they nicely cover anything you [STRIKE]couldnt be bothered [/STRIKE]didnt have time to do:o

Doesn't it make more sense to do all of the cleaning after Christmas when you take the decorations down? That way you can get rid of all the bits of glitter and tinsel that appear on everything over Christmas.

Or does Mrs. Teb do it all again then anyway ?

I agree with Nelski the decorations hide a multitude of sins
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

yes! thats what i think too! one load of cleaning per festive season.

mrs teb does do it then as well though.

btw i'm upstairs in hiding now. too much comotion going on downstairs with hoovers and the like. i'll come out of hiding in a while when she's too tired to bother getting annoyed with me. :rotfl: then i'll help with whats left. to think i took a few days off work for this.
  • You need to find yourself a lazy wife. I am the perfect example, unfortunately I am already taken! (but not married)
If my other half did that I would think christmas truely had come early and be very happy & grateful that he had made the effort, & if i was planning to clean first (which I wasn't!) I would leave it for this year rather than stop the momentem (<- spelt wrong!) Of him wanting to help! Maybe he'd do the xmas dinner too! Its about time men joined in the hard work that xmas is, all the ones I know sit there & get waited on hand & foot till New Year!!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!
  • hahaha... Teb, those have got to be my posts of 2006!

Are you my bf in disguise???

Exactly the same in this house I'm afraid but then another 'deep clean' once all the decorations are up to get rid of anything that came down with the decs from the loft!

I'm a lazy wife. However ( I couldn't put the tree up in the lounge until I'd spent a day bleaching and scrubbing the kitchen???) Now I'm clearing out the kids room before I will decorate the rest of the house. I think its swapping one clutter headache for another instead of adding to it.

Teb, could you plase pop round mine and put the lights around the comp desk,, I've put my back out and cant do it and my Mr wouldn't even take 1 day off to help!!

Curtains... washed? huh? I'm lost :rotfl:

Mr Tine knows better than to interfer at the moment... I just spent over a day cleaning scrubbing and re-arranging the entire kitchen because he moaned about not being able to find something... main result was the disposal of several of HIS things that are never used anymore (like the deep fat fryer hehehe) so now he's too scared to suggest that he can't find anything like say his socks!
