Help please, dog has had the runs on carpet

Came downstairs this morning to find dog had had a severe attack of the runs and also pee'd on the lounge carpet  . Ive scraped off as much of the stuff as I can and have covered it in bicarbonate of soda as I'd read here somewhere that someone had used it on cat vomit. The pee Ive soaked with good old vinegar and water.
Now I have to take DD2 to nursery and come back and face the mountains of brown bicarb, and I dont know how to approach it. Any one any sugestions pleeeeeese?

i've always found a diluted solution of washing liquid with hot water works although you may have to do this a few times over the next couple of days. Hope doggie is feeling better0

Oh poor you:o I know this well:o I use stardrops and elbow grease, bit of dettol. Open windows and let the air take the smell away and let it dry that way.
Poor you, poor doggy with a dodgy bum:o0 -
I find a microfibre cloth and the stardrops soapy water works quite well for this kind of emergency. if you don't have stardrops you can use biological washing powder or something that destroys enzymes like Nappisan.
First step is obviously to sweep or hoover up the bicarb. I would probably sweep so you don't get a smelly hoover! If you have a Vax machine, then use it first over the whole area using the soapy solution, then spot treat the stubborn bits with the microfibre cloth and some more soapy water. Don't worry if it still looks a bit patchy when wet as it will dry better. Good luck - hope your carpets aren't cream!0 -
I would definitely get all the bicarb and debris off first and then, as others have said, go at it with biological liquid and stardrops. You will need to keep doing it and the smell will go eventually. Throw open all the windows and spray air freshener round too!0

My little dog has just got out of the pooing on the carpet stage. I've found the best thing to use is Stardrops. Get a bucket of warm water and squirt a bit in and use a scrubbing brush to clear it up. Rinse it off again with plain water and then repeat the whole process again. When it's dry sprinkle it with bicarb, leave it for about 30 minutes and then vacuum it up.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I have the perfect solution
It's called laminate floor! We DID have a beautiful cream carpet... I now have an even nicer laminate floor and it's SO easy to keep clean
I tried Bicarb, stardrops, 50 different pet stain removers and STILL I couldn't compeltely remove the stains... the final straw was ink from a pen the dog chewed... believe it or not but I got loads up... or so I thought. The ink had gone through the carpet, the underlay and har actually stained the concrete underneath!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Oh if your carpet can take it then use biological washing powder... make into a paste and gently rub in. Then hover over it to get the worst of the poweder up and get a cloth and some clean white towels and start gently dabbing it off with a wet sponge and a dry towel...

This brought back memories of when i lived at home with my parents and their cats, came downstairs one morning in my bare feet and felt a squelch between my toes, when I looked down there was the back end of a mouse with all its guts hanging out oozing between my toes...not a nice memory :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 126 :j
