BG Click Energy - Impending price rise
I have just received all the latest BG letters explaining how much they lost last year(£200 million) etc etc and how they are a caring company etc etc!!
However buried away in a letter about the price rise on 04 Sept was a statement that although that price hike did not affect Click Energy that tariff will be rising later this year.

Obviously not for you that are already on it but I wish they would change it now, energyonline told me its my cheapest tariff but I'm not changing if its going up in three months, will have to sit tight and check if its cheaper after the price rices.....

I'm on it, but will have to reevaluate and move in a few months time.
I dread to think what might happen if my account is in credit when I move. Still not sorted out the first handover.
Maybe I could be in a position where I move from BG and they are trying to sort both my move to them and from them. Imagine I moved back to Npower then I could end up with all four parts of the two moves in limbo.Happy chappy0 -
If I moved now could I move again when it goes up in December if necessary, the saings are about a third compared to what I'm paying now and my account is in credit!

Yes. The only possible problem is that the handover process is not as simple as you'd hope.Happy chappy0

Ahh I see, although I could stay with them for a while, I might check out the rise for BGs other tariffs it might give me an idea of the rise, thanks for your time, just sent a nice email to Powergen telling them how disappointed I am to be leaving them but think their rises are excessive so you never know they might agree a little discount to keep me!

Yes you can do that, but in reality my experience is that it takes 6-8 weeks anyway, so you have to wonder whether it's worth it.
It might be worth checking out Ebico.
Their business is run on christian principles. I am not a christian but recognise that it's a very different business model with very different aims to most businesses.
They have only put up prices recently once per year so there can be large parts of the year where you benefit substantially and fewer worries about constant price rises.0 -
You're right Lisyloo, its probably not worth bothering by the time it goes through, the rest of BG tariffs are way down my list of cheaper si its unlikely ot save me money after that date. I've looked Ebico but am concerned that due to their size the handover period could be quite stressful, you cannot manage your account online either as far as I could see, I was reluctant to go with Atlantic as have had my fingers burnt with them before but seeing as their parent company has changed might risk it.
THanks for everyones help

Parents have recently changed from Powergen to Ebico, everything went very smoothly indeed and they had no problems whatsoever.
Ebico have just put their prices up, but from what I can see they are still pretty competitive in most cases.0
