I have been looking at this monitor for sometime, it has got some excellent reviews. Don't know what 1ms means (sorry)

The 12ms is something to do with the update speed of the screen I believe (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!!).

I've just been looking into getting one myself, as the old CRT screen died, and got a Benq 17" 12ms LCD screen which is very good, although we had to tone down the brightness a bit. Anyway, the lower the "ms" number, the faster it is - most are around the 16ms mark, older ones are higher, and there are some newer ones out at around 10ms. The only thing I was wary of was the "dead pixels" thing - but luckily we don't seem to have any on ours, so far. You can buy monitors with a "no dead pixels" guarantee, but they cost a lot more.

Oh, and the one we bought was just under £200 including delivery, and I thought that was a good deal!!

PS - the Digimate 1715 is a 16ms speed, so slightly different spec.
  • Amazon vs Aria.........Aria wins every time. They're a local firm in Manchester and I use them regularly. Amazon on the other hand are the 'Tescos' of the internet. I've read that £1 in £8 is spent in Tescos. Big corporations don't need any extra help, especially if they are not the cheapest.
  • Amazon are excellent - Aria are better. I ordered a 17" Digimate in the week before xmas and it was at my house in 18 hours. No special delivery paid - spot on.
  • i was looking for one yesterday and and i ordered the 1718 from aria.
i mentioned this in a post in the quick grabbit board in the dell for 327, which includes a 17 inch dell tft.
in the end i bot the one from aria
will let you know what like.

  • well i ordered this monitor on tuesday and it arrived wednesday (far north of scotland).
i am well impressed with both the monitor and the service from aria.
they kept me informed with email.
i notice that the monitor is now 152.69 though.

I bought one of these 2 months ago and I have to say that it is one of the best buys I've ever bought for my PC.

Very easy to set up, no dead pixels and no noticeable ghosting. Recommend to anyone at this price.

The 1715 I have is 12 ms the spec has been changed, although there may still be some 16/14 ones around too.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
