Halifax Web Saver rate increased to 4.75% (w.e.f. Sep 1)

Halifax have announced that they will increase the rate of their Web saver account from 4.50% to 4.75%, effective 1st September 2006.

That's what I thought. I kind of guessed that Halifax would release their new Web Saver interest rate this evening, especially after ING Direct showed their hand earlier on today with their own 0.25% rise to 4.75%. Rate-wise Halifax are in direct competition with ING, so they must have just been holding off until they knew what ING intended to do. Typical banks.;)Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

Looks like the ISA Saver Direct rate remains at 4.75%0 -

I currently have an isa saver direct with halifax and i remember it being 5.15% not too long ago.0

Halifax have now increased the rate on their ISA Saver Direct from 4.75% to 5.00%, effective from today (1st September 2006).
The new rate now appears on the Halifax website, here.
The new rate also appears on the Halifax ISA Saver Direct webpage.
