Help this confused old man....
Options
LOL!
There are so many deals going on - I've even seen 12 months free line rental! (Rainbow) Is there a 15 year old out there somewhere who could advise me....
My wife has changed roles at work which means she will be away more often (N.Ireland sometimes) Currently she has a 3110 on O2 PAYG. The following is our Utopia - what is the nearest I can get to it?
Apologies if this information is elsewhere - I did search but it is all so very confusing now!
Many thanks

My wife has changed roles at work which means she will be away more often (N.Ireland sometimes) Currently she has a 3110 on O2 PAYG. The following is our Utopia - what is the nearest I can get to it?
- Wants a new Nokia tri-band phone with a colour screen, nice ring tones and full bluetooth - not bothered about any other features except possibly camera. 6230i would be ideal
- Most calls will be to my mobile (Vodafone) and to our landline
- Uses text occasionally
- Free line rental (well, I said it was Utopia!!) or minimum rental
- Keep existing number (not essential)
Apologies if this information is elsewhere - I did search but it is all so very confusing now!
Many thanks

check out https://www.mobileshop.com they have some 12 months free line rental deals on O2. Their cash back procedure is straight forward, just make sure that you comply with the dates given for sending off the required bills.
As you are already on O2 I'm not sure whether you could keep your number but you say that isn't important. If you were to go for this deal http://!!!!!!!.com/ogytt you get 250 xnet mins and 100 free texts per month, so you could easily let people have your new number.
If you really want the 6230i then they will give you 8 months free line rental on a 12 months contract with the same tariff as above.
If you don't want the phone insurance then you need to cancel it within the first month, if you don't then you will be charged monthly for the cover.0 -

Can be unlocked for free - see unlocking section at the top.
Stick a Vodafone sim card, so you're both on the same network.0 -
Sorry the 3120 doesn't have bluetooth; it's a great 12 month free deal if you can manage without it though!
My link didn't work, let's try again....

Here is the 6230i on 8 months free line rental:

3 Ireland Eliminates Northern Ireland and Great Britain Roaming Charges For All Customers
Calls Made While Roaming in Northern Ireland & Great Britain Treated as Regular Domestic Calls and Included in Monthly Minute Bundles
From tomorrow, all customers of 3, Ireland's newest mobile network, will no longer have to pay higher call charges to domestic or UK numbers while roaming in Northern Ireland and Great Britain. 3 Ireland is the first network to abolish roaming charges on a pan-UK basis for all its customers -- business and consumer alike -- without subjecting them to additional connection fees.
Congrats on the wifes promotionIf I helped or saved you money - Thank me

plus pay for all calls & texts on a PAYG tariff.
For £6 more you get an unlocked, unbranded phone with 250 xnet mins and 100 texts per month for a year.0 -
dave_dph has made a solid recommendation with mobileshop. They are the only online third party retailer I would recommend for O2 connections.
The Nokia 6111 is tri-band and bluetooth enabled and if you connect to O2 250 on a 12 month contract there is 12 months free line rental via cashback. I just recommended exactly the same deal to someone else.
Here is the link.
If you want to keep you existing number you will need to port out to a PAYG SIM on another network and then back to O2 again when the contract starts.
Those Northern Ireland roaming charges will add up so it is also worth considering what seaniboy says.
Cheers
