Broadband Telephone - no call charges

Options
I've just taken delivery of a broadband telephone that allows me to dial any landline or mobile in the UK , USA, Canada for a flat rate per month of £29.95. It works great and I'm amazed - how are these people doing this? Quality is good - OK it sounds a little muffled, but then so do some ordinary phone calls. There's no echo, and no delay.

I've got 4 kids and last month my phone bill was horrendous - now its going to be less than £30!

It comes with a small box that plugs into the broadband connection. Then all I had to do was plug in my existing telephone and it worked.

there are lots of people starting to offer these types of service. I use skype (https://www.skype.com). It works with your ordinary pc mic and speakers if you dont want to buy a handset, and if the other person has skype on their pc too, (its a free download by the way), then calls to them cost nothing. Quality is excellent by the way, even as far away as Australia.

All of this might just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device, sitting on someone's table.
  • Obviously this doesn't include any line rental that has to be paid to someone?

Can you stay online 24/7 to UK, USA and Canada landlines and mobiles with 18866?

You can - but why would you want to?

    call18866.co.uk calls cost 1p to UK 01 & 02 STD codes - so £29.99 = 2999 calls per month (100 per day, every day).

However, if you make numerous calls to USA & Canada landlines and mobiles, you may have picked what's best for you ......

£29.99 for a VoIP service? You're being seriously ripped off!
No reliance should be placed on the above.
