No, the only thing I have bought is the book Sink Reflections, it works a lot better for me than her website, I firmly believe that any of the things she sells can be made just as easily at home or bought more cheaply. I always buy a family organiser calender just after christmas at one of those calender shops that always spring up in town centres just before and they mark them down very cheaply afterwards as they always want to get rid of stock before they close up.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I have the Flylady feather duster and calender. The calender is good but you could probably find a similar one locally. The feather duster is very good - however Dunelm had some real ostrich feather ones recently that looked just the same (well without the purple feathers anyway!). Obviously postage is quite high from America.I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I think I was sort of hoping someone would say they bought the control manual (or something like that, not good with names) and it revolutuionised their lives & gave them extra hours a week !!!
Thanks for sharing. Back to the drawing board!!!

I've not been able to find a similar calendar locally - and I have tried, carried it into a couple of places where I got strange looks but no joy. I don't like the new "flylady" calendar so have gone back the "More Time Moms" calendar - there are several of us locally and we compared three calendars side by side and decided the MTM was the best - just placed an order for four of 'em <G>
I have the dusters and they are good - but yes you could probably get regular dusters locally, I just liked the purple
My control journal has changed the way the family works - even my dh is willing to go into that filing system whilst he isn't the regular files and drawers. Does make life so much easier to have one thing to grab.0 -
Can you tell me more about the control journal ? Is it just filing or can you really organise yourself with it ?
Thanks

Hi, just found this thread while looking for the old thread.
you might find Moggins 'household manual' thread usefull for this - and TBH while I ummed an erred about buying one for a long time I know in my heart that one written by someone else just wouldn't help me.
That said, I know it helps to buy something that encourages the process - so why not either buy a pack of pretty couloured printer paper and an A4 file to get you started, or one of those Puka pad project books that have been raved about on the daily threads?
As this thread is fairly 'old' I won't search for relevant links just yet - but if you are interested let me know.
My first purchase was the book 'sink reflections' but I bought that from amazon. Later I ordered the 'More time Moms' calender and the organiser bag from F/L (they hadn't brought out their own calender). I wish I had checked out the import info first - on top of the post etc already paid I had to pay some sort of duty - and it was something rediculouse like £9! Quite took the shine off having the parcel for a while!!!
However I have to say I love my 'office in a bag' - not for it's intended purpose, but I do party plan and it's great for that. As for the calender - too bland for my liking - never really got on with it.
But the feather duster..... I sooo want one! Only thing holding me back is the fear of being stung on import tax/duty (or whatever it's called) on top of what I pay F/L again. That and which one to get - and does it really work fantastically?

I found the book better than the site, but I think the calendar is expensive, feather dusters aren't great for asthmatics and the control journal case got used briefly and then was relegated to the back of a drawer.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Didn't think of that! I'm asthmatic as is my DS3 - perhaps not the best thing for me to buy!
Thanks for pointing that out!

I've only just joined flylady, but I'm finding the site a bit hard to find my way around, any tips welcome!0

I've been using it for a couple of year now bj-sailway and I still get lost!
Personally I use it for inspiration and to gradually build knowledge and ideas for coping. Perhaps it was made 'complicated' to try and stop people like me trying to do it all at once!
Is there anything in particular you are finding difficult? Have you signed up for the 'flylessons'? As I say I still fumble around the site, but I'm happy to help if I can,
