Ironing survey

I'm setting up my own ironing business and wondered if any of you would be prepared to answer my few questions? I've put it on here rather on the ironing board in the hope that I get more responses; hope that's OK mods!

Just click on this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/P6XFXJW

Many thanks :)

  • Done! Good idea for the survey.. Good luck with it. I used to do ironing years ago, wasn't so bad, except I hate ironing lol
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

If you really cant knit very well, then practise drumming with the needles...

We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Many thanks to those of you who have responded so far - it's really helpful. I have my own idea of how to run it, but it's no good if the people who want the ironing done don't think the same way as me :)!

  • I've completed the survey for you. I used an ironing service a few years ago after I broke my arm and ended up using for a year after. They would pick up and on Monday night and drop off on a Wednesday. They did have different pick up/delivery days avaiable to suit the customer. I can't remember how much I paid.
  • done, good luck, i used to iron years ago and used to charge by bin bag lol

Done - wish you were near me; my arthritic and RSI blighted paws would be grateful...
    Stage one - declutter
Stage two - sell the clutter
Stage three - turn the money into more money
Stage four - pat self on back

Done it. My friend made a nice living out of this when her children were small and it allowed her to stay home, she lived on the edge of an very affluent area which helped!

I wish you good luck with it, hope you are successful.

done... I am glad my survey inspired you to have a go as well at the market research. I found writing the survey a little tricker than I'd expected. I 've had to tweak the wording a little since.

I wanted to add some extra text to your answer - on collection. I think that some places you could collect and drop off at peoples places of work. You'd provide sack / bin liners and people would bring things in. It depends on the work place at my work place you could do that easily.

Good luck I am also looking to business link for help.

Final thought. Some people would quite like people to go to their houses do some cleaning and ironing. so you do their ironing in their home and perhaps ? put it away for them.

Before I was made redundant I was working full time long hours and we often talked about getting someon to help us or else there would be no hours left in the week to be with our kids...
