Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

Evening budgeteers,
I was very red for last week:mad: but today is the beginning of a new one so I will try again.
I am going for £50 this week as I am going out for dinner on Thursday and going out to people's houses two nights so might need to supply some wine.
Congrats to the purples and of course to the greens, everyone has done well so far.
Let me know any more results or pledges and I will update. Also let me know if I have made any mistakes.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Thanks Pointy
I know I won't be purple again this week as I'm meeting friends for coffee tomorrow, but hopefully that'll be it for the week! Though once you've cracked open that £20 note it's much easier to fritter the rest...

Saz xxx:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -
Hiya
Although I am bit all over the place, I want to pledge £20 this week - can't you tell its nearly payday? I'm away with work for 2 nights, so will have to buy lunch both days and meals (which I claim back) but am hoping for a quiet one on money that I can't get back!!!:p
Anyway, have been green both weeks so far, and hoping for another one, but really need to get a grip of this in February, my credit card for expenses has come through so I can put everything work related on there and only spend on stuff I need rather than petrol etc which I get back.
Good luck everyone

I failed this week, but not as badly as I normally do, I spent £21.64 out of £15.
I will stick to my £15 goal again this coming week, and try to stick to it for once!
Good luck to everyone0 -
Hi Pointy, thanks for opening new thread.
Today could have been a very bad start of the week but I just got it back into budget! Here is how:
- Had to redo the order for a christmas present. Since I technically already recorded the money as spent but somehow the order got cancelled (?!?!?) I don't take it out my budget as it was my Dec budget spent
- Subscribe to a 1 year car thingy. Got advantages but £59. Quite unforeseen to be honest. I cancelled 2 orders I had posted during Christmas and much earlier one for 2 games at nealy £25 each... et voila I only count my spend at £9.02
Ok my calculations may seem a bit twisted but I am quite happy to have reprioritise what I trully need ( a good cover for home start and european travel) versus Pc games when I have already so many of them and don't get to play them all
Hope you all have a good week xxxMFW on your mark0 -
Hello all and thank you to Pointy for another thread.
Okay, grasped it now, I am only counting misc spends.
Please put me down for £3 again. If I get another red, I will ban myself.
Good luck everyoneDebt £26k 18/10/140 -
