I don't think anyone's started this week's goals thread yet. This is my first week, so thought I'd jump on the bandwagon.
Here's last week's: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=217531
And mine are as follows:
1) Close ISA
2) Use ISA money and interest to completely pay off career development loan (£8k)
3) Clear Halifax card (£215), cut into pieces and close.
4) Two no-spend days (Tuesday and Thursday)
5) Four no alcohol days (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
6) Pitch article ideas to two magazines
7) Fix up extra shifts for weekend/evenings
8) Practise shorthand
9) Add ten more CDs to Amazon marketplace and check/adjust prices of items already listed
Am I getting the hang of this yet?

Hello eveyone,
Not been around much - but I hope everyone is okay and surviving.
Here are my goals from LAST week:-
* 4 no spend days - I am determined to crack this! - Managed 2
* Sort out switch to Smile re. direct debits/standing order - This month will be a bit wonky - but I think money is in the right place now (or will be tomorrow when I go to the bank at lunchtime)
* Catch up on correspondance - emails/phone calls and MSE PMs etc - No - I don't think I can do this til project launches at work after Thursday and after garden party on Saturday - I've never been so busy or so tired in all my life
* Pay off £200 on Barclaycard on Thursday on payday - this is a combination of £25 minimum payment, £45 extra from salary, £70 from eBay sales, £30 bank charges refund, £30 from second job - Only managed to pay £100 as Barclaycard would only accept this amount from a *new* visa delta card (I didn't understand either, I'm sure its a way of them trying to not let you pay enough off before the end of the 0% period!). The other £100 is having to go towards bills etc anyway - so maybe a blessing in disguise. Means I can cope this month.
* Diaries with OH - Yes!
* Work really hard at work - big project launches on 6th July and I have so much to do for it (its quite exciting though) and I also have to do another MASSIVE funding application that's landed on my desk in next 7 days - Yes, but still lots to do - working today if I can get myself organised. I'm so bl**dy tired!
* If am home before 10pm any day, think about doing this bl**dy eBay order. Its only 12 tealight holders (I glass paint and sell on eBay) but is such a thought when I am so tired. - No - am a bit worried about this.
Here are my goals for THIS week:-
* 4 no spend days
* Final blitz of lots of work this week and make everyone really impressed with my work at project launch on Thursday
* Prepare for garden party at the weekend
* Treat OH very nicely on his birthday on Friday.
I can't cope with many more goals than the above over the next week. Back on track with MSE ways after the next week or so is over.
Good luck everyone with your goals!

Last week:
1) - Get hair trimmed, don't want to start new job with hair looking straggly! Yes
2) - Have another look for a new pair of work shoes and skirt. If I still can't find anything, will just have to 'make do' with what I have for now (and try not to have a stressy fit that I don't have anything suitable to wear for work!) - Have got a pair of shoes, but didn't find a skirt. Will just have to wear the skirt I already have and look out for a new one in the sales.
3) - Two exercise sessions of at least thirty minutes each. Yes
4) - Declare car as off the road when tax expires this week as it's playing up and needs some work doing to it. Hassle OH to fix it! Yes, but OH doesn't have time to fix it until next weekend.
5) - Research driving instructors. I'm going to start having professional lessons next month as need help with reversing manouevres, as well as driving with OH/family to get experience, hopefully I will be able to go for test sometime this year! Haven't done this yet, will do this week.
This weeks goals:
1) - Pamper myself this evening (face mask, paint nails, watch girly DVD such as Sex & the City) and get an early night in readiness for starting my new job tomorrow. Also get everything ready tonight (clothes, packed lunch etc) so I'm not rushing in the morning!
2) - Eat healthily and TRY and get in two exercise sessions this week as I only need to lose half a pound to reach my first stone lost!
3) - Gather names/numbers for female driving instructors and get lesson prices.
Can't think of anything else that really needs to be done this week, plus I need time to settle into my new job... really hope I enjoy it!
Good luck with your goals everyone!0 -

Righto, my goals for last week were:
Phone NTL and Scottish Power to tell them about moving house. Put the NTL termination request in writing as have heard such stories about them 'forgetting' to stop charging. Phoned them, all sorted. Forgot about the whole putting it in writing thing
On that note, use internet banking to cancel NTL direct debit and arrange with NTL to pay outstanding balance some other way. Haven't cancelled DD yetApparently I'll get a bill for the outstanding which I can pay however I like.
Find out about the cost of a post forwarding service as I don't trust whoever moves in here Yep, set up the service.
Make list of people/companies to tell about change of address and then do it! Ditto anyone who has my university email address. Umm, yep, just about. Haven't changed my address on any online shops etc but I can just do that as I go along.
Start packing early to give myself time to check if it will all fit in my car (only little!)!! Yep, have tried out some boxes in the car. Going to be all packed by tonight so that I can pack the car tomorrow (leaving first thing tuesday)
Go to bank and deposit contents of £2 coin collection and penny jar to avoid having to pack that weight (£50 in coppers is heavy!!!!!!). Yep, done!
Get my own website up and running for those people directed to it as a a result of my exhibition (hopefully some work might come my way, fingers crossed!) Nope, decided against. Will rather take my time and set up a decent site that gives a good impression, rather than hurry it.
Okey dokey! So, my goals for this coming week are (none of them very money saving!):
Finish packing, sorting, cleaning etc for move on tuesday.
Find out about sending parcels by parcelforce - can I do it at a Post Office?! Sort out sending my friend's parcel to her (in Norway!).
On tuesday, phone Scottish Power and NTL to confirm final meter readings/disconnection of service.
Make sure house is in ok state to ensure that I get my bond money back from landlady
Once home, chill out. First time I'll have stopped in months. Don't feel guilty for doing absolutely nothing for a few days!!
Have a good week everyone!
Good luck for all your work stuff Scottishspendaholic x :TDon't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003Proud to have become debt free... and striving to keep it that way

Not done this before but determined to try and be abit more organised and pro-active this week.
1. Send letter requesting NatWest statments re: bank charges claim.
2.Aim to sell at least 3 items on Amazon this week.
3. Get round to putting at least 5 items on Ebay.

Good luck everybody with your aims this week however big or small they seem.
