Hello everyone,
My head is all over the place at the moment - I desperately feel the need to start a new update thread or a scottishspendaholic diary - but keeping up with the goals tradition until I get the time to do this as so busy just now.
I would really appreciate your advice and support when I do start a new thread though (if you are around) as feel like I need some virtual hugs!
Edited to say - sorry, here is goals thread link from last week:- http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=214222
Here are my goals from LAST week:-
*4 no spend days - Think I managed one!
*Phone to find out if RBS have entered a defense on Tuesday (for bank charges claim). If not, I've won! Woo-hoo! - Long story, but I've won! £884.62 went into my RBS bank acc on Thursday! Cleared the overdraft of £850 completly! Update to follow asap!
*We have £5 to spend on food - be creative with storecupboard challenge! - We spent this £5 on a bottle of wine to celebrate getting the bank charges back - much deserved methinks so I don't feel too guilty!
*Do diaries with OH - a lot going on over next few weeks - Carried forward to next week
*Work really hard at full time job - its a crazy week - just come back from Aberdeen and going to Inverness and Glasgow and a conference in Edinburgh - but lots of 'desk work' to do too - I am in work just now - I know its 8.30am on a Sunday (!) but so much to do and need to get caught up! Tell me to go and do my work and stop skiving on MSE!
Here are my goals for THIS week:-
*4 no spend days - I am determined to crack this!
*Sort out switch to Smile re. direct debits/standing order
*Catch up on correspondance - emails/phone calls and MSE PMs etc
*Pay off £200 on Barclaycard on Thursday on payday - this is a combination of £25 minimum payment, £45 extra from salary, £70 from eBay sales, £30 bank charges refund, £30 from second job
*Diaries with OH
*Work really hard at work - big project launches on 6th July and I have so much to do for it (its quite exciting though) and I also have to do another MASSIVE funding application that's landed on my desk in next 7 days.
*If am home before 10pm any day, think about doing this bl**dy eBay order. Its only 12 tealight holders (I glass paint and sell on eBay) but is such a thought when I am so tired.
Good luck everyone with your goals!

Thanks for starting this thread scottishspendaholic! I haven't done it in weeks
as have been run off my feet but things are calming down a bit now and I'm finding time for MSE! I've got a busy week with lots to organise because I'm moving house next monday (well, moving out of uni house back to my parents'). Lots of packing to do etc but also trying to spend time with my friends as they're all off home (mostly overseas) and I don't know when I'll get to see them
Anyway, goals for this week:
Phone NTL and Scottish Power to tell them about moving house. Put the NTL termination request in writing as have heard such stories about them 'forgetting' to stop charging.
On that note, use internet banking to cancel NTL direct debit and arrange with NTL to pay outstanding balance some other way.
Find out about the cost of a post forwarding service as I don't trust whoever moves in here
Make list of people/companies to tell about change of address and then do it! Ditto anyone who has my university email address.
Start packing early to give myself time to check if it will all fit in my car (only little!)!!
Go to bank and deposit contents of £2 coin collection and penny jar to avoid having to pack that weight (£50 in coppers is heavy!!!!!!).
Get my own website up and running for those people directed to it as a a result of my exhibition (hopefully some work might come my way, fingers crossed!).
I think that'll do for now!
Thanks again Scottish x

Hi all...big hugs SS...look afteryourself as looks like you're doing much too much, as do others who have loads of goals...I know we all want to be DF but do we want to be miserable & have nervous breakdowns on the way?!!
Ok last weeks...
1) 3 no spend days - managed 2
2) 1 excercise session - OK I'm !!!!!!..will try again this week - more of a manageable week as not getting ready fo car boot!
3) Car boot on sat - get stuff ready for it & be lethal with junk - did it but SOOO much junk that I have to do another one!! Also much more fun than ebay!
4) Send invoices etc for new work - done & fingers crossed that they have a case ready for me!
This weeks:
1) Sort holiday insurance (I go on the 6th!)
2) Get some of ironing done
3) Bank money from car boot & dont "reward" shop!
4) Start REALLY thinking about giving up smoking on return from hols
5) 1 excercise session (sorry Mel!)Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hugs to you Scottish, you have been v quiet recently. Great news on the bank charges!!! And CC payment!!!!
Have been a pile of pants recently so am going to be v focused:
1. Sit down with DS and plan menu for week. He's taking a year out of uni but has a job - am going to charge him board so he starts to learn what life is about, but know that in return he will want input into what he eats!!!
2. 4 no spend days, not counting car parks etc which claim back from work. Won't include any 'disciplined spending' related to 1. in this!
3. Research buying smoothie maker (linked to DS & 1 - he drinks a lot of them which I want to encourage but think cheaper to make own? May convince myself to go on smoothie detox!)
4. 100 minutes on exercise bike!!!!!!   Starting with 10 mins for England goal this afternoon!!!
5. Sort out probs with electric, gas & water billing / lack of billing
OK, suitably inspired to off to start on 3 & 5 (not 4 though, too scary!!!!!!)A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Ok I'll set myself some goals. Now to think of some...
1. 2 no spend days. hard to have more this week as it's payday, wooh!
2. plan my lunches properly (had a go at this last week, went ok)
3. start my work manual thing
can't actually think of anything else...
Well done on the bank charges scottish! I should think about doing this myself I guessDFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls
