has anyone finished or is project supposed to be continual? how many black bags of 'rubbish' have you actually disposed of?

Hopefully once you have finished the house (or the week whichever came first) and set some routines in place, done a swish and swipe daily then there shouldn't be any real need for the challenge again.

However we are real people with real lives and the school holidays are about to come upon us. I forecast needing another one in the beginning of September

Lol - you haven't been to my house have you Moggins!!!
I'm quite proud of the fact that my lads are willing helpers... however they are 'stereotypical' males in the respect that they just don't see mess.
Within an hour this morning my darlings (2 of them today) had managed to leave 2 glasses on the dining table, a bowl next to the W/M a jug with a further two glasses in the garden, cards on the coffee table, remotes and cushions on the floor and a mamoth mess in the bedroom (playstaion games and controlers/wires everywhere and two messed up beds)
Fly lady challenge for me was to get the place 'presentable' - however I will be doing my best to take part in the zone thing and a combination of 'home blessings' and the routine thing mentioned on the other thread (a chore per day) I have masses of clutter to clear so it will probably take me a long time to 'finish' - but then, isn't that what they say? A womans work is never done...

Moggins, have you been to my house, and peeped through the curtains, perchance? After lots of good intentions, plenty of Stardrops and Micro Cloths, never got properly started. :eek: :eek:

I'm now completely intimidated by more than 400 posts (probably more now, but I daren't look).

Please give me another kick up the butt to get me going in September!

Okay, will do, I'm hoping to keep everything under control but as I have 12 excursions planned for 6 weeks then life is looking a little busy

I've got 1/2 of DD bedroom left and our bedroom left to do. Should be completed next week. I know it is taking me longer, but this time I am actually staying on top of stuff. Whereas before I could do a 1 or 2 day blitz and within 24 hours it be back wrecked:rolleyes: . It is so nice to walk downstairs in a morning and be met with a tidy house.

I agree with you 100% spendless. I am so proud of my home now! I've still a very long way to go but feel so much better now. Going to go now before I say more soppy stuff to thank Moggins....

I've nearly finished just the hall and porch left to do which doesnt sound that bad except the porch has become a dumping ground for a dh diy tools so they need to be moved and found new homes. I swear you wont be able to get in my garage when I've finished

I've been lurking and flyladying this week. I have to say I've never felt so motivated to do the housework!!! I've got menus for the week printed and up on the fridge, computer generated a tick-off shopping list (courtesy Flylady website - with a few alterations and additions). Made a household file, am in the process of getting a weekly rota established (basic necessities), typed out a list of birthday dates so I can see the year's birthdays at a glance plus cleaned the oven (a 4 day event by instalments), windows, zapped the zone, done a bit of hotspotting, home baked rolls and pizzas, shone the sinks, cleared some clutter.

Will it last?

No haven't finished yet, but getting closer!

Think the point is that as we are real people things will slide and need to be done again, but we'll be starting from a much better base. There will be new clutter to deal with, but just that not new clutter on top of the old clutter iyswim?

DS3 went on holiday on Thursday so am currently attacking his pit! Have permission to bin any obvious junk. Foolish words, my son!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I have two toddlers so mine is never all tidy but I do find that getting into some sort of routine helps. Five mins to clear kitchen, put the dishwasher on and wipe the bathroom before I go to bed make a huge difference to the general impression.

I am also better at looking around me and saying if someone knocked on the door now would I be embarassed? 15 minute tidy up is the most it takes.

Binbags? Since I started doing this 10 weeks ago I have filled the trailer twice - so maybe 20 binbags including the stuff that was freecycled/recycled. House is visibly emptier.
