Someone's been watching too much "ice road truckers":rotfl:0

And I didn't think anything could beat the muppets in the 4x4's overtaking everyone because they think they're "it" in the snow. Doesn't occur to them that people are waiting in something called a "queue" and most of them could probably also overtake.0

There was a thing about 'stupidity' on frozen water surfaces of various kinds on our local news the other night. People shaking their heads at a man who dared to go down the Bridgewater Canal on a motorbike. This icy weather must be taken very seriously and no fun must be had!
But on a serious note they did have a point about the parents pushing prams across lakes and taking toddlers on them.
On your head be it if you wish to do such things...
And anyway, what on Earth would possess someone to risk such an expensive and heavy thing as a car on a canal???0 -

To be fair, in poor light could this not be mistaken for a road?0

From another article:
"Their antics - which included performing handbrake turns on the ice. - sparked a major rescue operation.
But last night, Nisbet told the Record: "It was just a bit of a laugh."
He and Naismith have been charged with reckless conduct.
Nisbet thought he could drive 10 miles along the Union Canal from near Philpstoun, West Lothian, into Edinburgh in his W-reg Peugeot 406.
He was convinced the ice. would take the weight after he hurled a rock at it and the stone shattered into pieces.
Nisbet said: "We were pretty sure we could get a car down it.
"We were on the ice. for about a quarter of an hour before deciding to head for the city and we managed to get about a mile along the route."

Ahh! I see, yes, numptys it is! Not a Darwin award, perhaps, as it wasn't fatal, but certainly an honourable mention.0

Obviously they forgot that there has been a thaw up here for the last few days. That and the fact that a canal can have varying thickness in only a few hundred yards. I just feel sorry for the dog they had in the car with them... That and the number of fish they'll likely have poisoned, and a perfectly good car they've wrecked.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.
