Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

Morning budgeteers,
I managed to be very good (usual for me) last week and stay well and truely green, I usually am very close to the top of my budget. I had a fantastic time at the meet yesterday and managed to stay on the budget I set for that too.
This week I am going for £20 not including anything related to OH birthday as I still have part of a present to buy and I am also taking him out for dinner on Wednesday but I have sorted out a good deal so it should be bargainous.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Hello pointypenguin, thank you as always for keeping us in check with a new thread
I used £0 pounds last week, so please may I be purple?
I always say that I really should try going down to £10 this week, but I think the mentality of having £15 for the week and having £10 for the week is hugely different. Well, I will give it a go this week, so please put me down for £10. I may totally crash and burn though so please be ready with the fire hose!0 -
Hello, I am new to this board - normally am on the old style/food and groceries boards.
Am determined to save for goal - see signature - so please could I be put down for £10 this week.
Thank you.Mortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0 -

hi everyone
I spent £3 on snacks (then £22 on something from another budget )
then £7 on little bits which I forgot doing the weekl shop but will count them in this budget as I went awfully over budget on food shopping.usually spend £50ish but spent £85! eek! got some christmas things though and non essentials but still not good : ( but ebayed a few things last night and some sold straightaway so I made £25 in about half an hour : ) all clutter which was lying around
so £15 left for me this week
Hope everyones having a good weekend
Thanks for the new thread : )Weekly Spend Challenge £200 -
Hi pointypenguin, can you show me green with a spend of £3.74 please!
Please can you put me down for £35 again for this week. Although I'm coming in well under budget, £35 appears to be my lucky pledge, and I'm with pink_numbers, in that the mentality of having less than that to hand may just tip me over the edge!
Well done pink_numbers with coming up purple, and congrats to true27 for coming up purple the other week!
I'm yet to do any Xmas shopping, and I'm going to be really stretching things by seeing if I can make the rest of this week's food last another week!
Hope everyone who went had a good time at the meet! Good luck everyone with this week's pledges, and welcome on board EC12345!:money: Proud to [STRIKE]be dealing with[/STRIKE] have dealt with my debts! :money:

Oh dear, I'm in the red this week with a spend of £78.80 (not too bad, but I knew this would happen after my big pub night on Friday!!). I haven't been going out much, which is actually saving me loads!
I'm already almost at my current limit today!! And only expecting it to go up with dinner out tonite with the girls from netball (last game of season) and dinner party to attend (although have already purchased the pre-req bottle of bubbly!).
Sooooo .... thinking will spoil myself a bit this week (got my visa extended for 3 years!!) and go for £150.00 all in!Couch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011
I'm all about the freebies!!0
