UPDATE 9pm Tue

Hi folks, we're very close to launching a new tool and could do with a favour if you've five minutes. Please will you test our new tool - try and break it (not literally) and report any bugs or problems....

Please go to www.mobilevaluer.com and let us know how its working for you...

Though ignore the following which we are being fixed.

1. The link where it says click codes isn't working
2. The pink border to the central box isn't quite right.

(the team are working on changes at the moment - so there may be the odd other glitch as things are being changed)

Hi all,

We've a new site launching tomorrow and just wanted to give you all a heads up. If you could spare five minutes to help test it that would be great too!

www.mobilevaluer.com

It's going to replace the current mobile recycling article with an all singing all dancing tool.

What we'd like to know:

Any missing phones?
Any incorrect prices?
Any suggestions?
How did it work for you - any glitches?
Do you like it?

The text and design aren't finished yet

This is still a work in progress, so we know the following :)

It is not proofed so there's some grammer/spelling errors
There's also some repitition in the Q&As
The design isn't perfect yet - there are some boxes in the wrong place (e.g .moneysaving tip box will look v different) and it doesnt all fit together right
Its missing a reset button once you've done a search and want to restart

Thanks for your help

  • There may be some missing dealers. Cex for one.
  • Yep, seams to work for me, and all the prices seem correct. I might trade mine in:)
  • Worked fine for me, I will use also - did not know there were so many companies available!

One thing I may suggest is a picture of the phone? Maybe if I hover over the make my picture would pop up? Just a way of ensuring I had the correct model??

Also, the option to go back, only just realised you could click on the title to go back to the home page. Had to keep closing and opening to start. :D
  • Nice one! Worked quickly, good selection of potential purchasers (that I may now use....)

Oh dear! My mobile is worth £1. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm not saying that is a fault. It's most likely correct. :o

Seems fine and a nice tool. I tried 3 old phones we have - best is only worth £15 unfortunately. It's worth more to me as a spare.

Tried it for my phone - Nokia 5200 and the prices from your computer generated search were ranging from £29 - £20 plus the Tesco voucher one. The prices ranged (on the sites themselves) from £8 to £11. The only site that gave the same price £20 - was Fone Bank but on looking at the model picture shown to match it - it was the 5200 express.
Whilst I know yours are computer generated and prices can vary a bit - half the price seems quite wide of the mark.

    Hope that's helpful

  • Quite good :) I've just used another site as well to see, they come up with a better price (by £3!) http://www.comparemymobile.com/recycle/nokia/n95-8gb.html so it looks like the purchasers list might need checking!
