Ive just put up a cctv camera on my house wall. It has a sd card device and a video device in it so that it can record movement and save photos/clips. To save having to climb up a ladder to retrieve said card and photos every time it says in the instructions I can connect a USB to my pc to download and view them. Ive had to download the driver software but I am getting the message it cant access the hardware. Ive checked it out and it seems to me the software is for Windows XP :(

Can anyone tell me how to find the software for VISTA Home premium please.

The original software is Sunplus ICatch (1V) Video Camera Device.

Many thanks.

Anyone any other suggestions please. I dont fancy legging it up a ladder every time I want to view the photos :( Manufacturers are saying no their fault my puter OS isnt compatible! There are no updates past XP. Is it possible to use another program for this though?

So what they are saying is that the software they provide with a new product will only run on an operating system which is no longer available

If you get really stuck, you could install XP in a virtual box - assuming you have media and a key.

Thanks. Yes davb they are saying that its not their fault my computer isnt suitable for their products software - and this camera only came out in October this year :(

Thanks for that expresso, I think its similar to the site I used before which failed when I actually said I wanted to download the update. It seems to be a scanner for drivers and then asks you to subscribe so Im not certain that its genuine. Sunplus site itself doesnt have a VISTA upgrade so Im a bit dubious other sites can offer it.

Lots of things only have XP rated driers but work just fine - are you sure the connection is OK. How long is your USB lead - there is a limit of 3m for USB1 and 5m for USB2.

Yes its all working ok. We have 5 metres of USB. But when I try to view the camera from the puter it says sorry, you have no video capture hardware.

We have fiddled with all the hardware stuff and it all seems sound - the camera is recording video and photos and working.

I think we are at cross purposes here - have you tried the camera/computer using a different (and shorter) cable. 5m is at the limit of the spec for USB2 - was that the cable supplied with it?

Hi, yes we have tried that kwik.

I can download the software and the puter installs it but when I click on amcap the box tells me there is no hardware when the computer has found the hardware and downloaded the software already :( (Sorry Im not techi).

There is a little box when I click on amcap - one message says about not finding video capture hardware and another box which appears to be a set up for keeping the video and photos on file. But I dont think fiddling with that would make any difference would it?
