Just after a bit of advice from any Londoners on here.I'm off to Top Gear Live at Earl's Court on Sunday. We'll be driving down from Yorkshire to arrive in London about 10.00am.
I imagine parking will be a nightmare by Earl's Court so my intention is to park near Hendon and get the tube in to Earl's Court.
Has anyone got any knowledge on parking near hendon or any other ideas on how best to do it?

I just had a look on TFL at station carparks and I couldn't find one for Hendon... maybe a different station on the Northern line but by 10am you might find they are full.... perhaps someone else will have more information about local parking facilities

Cheers for that.I've not driven in London before so I was slightly nervous about it.I'll get looking on Google maps for somewhere a bit closer. Is the congestion charge applicable on a Sunday?

    No congestion charge on Sundays.

Have a look at Stanmore tube station for parking.
    Very close to M1.
  • Or just park in the car park out the back - used it a few times, and although its expensive its convienient

The cost is one part of it but it's the drive from the end of the M1 to Earls's Court that I'm a bit wary of.I thought if I parked up further North and got the tube in it might be less stressful. As you can tell I'm no fan of big city driving.

When I has a similar drive I parked at cockfosters and got 1 one tube straight through to Earls Court - it took a while but nice and easy.

I think we had to discount Stanmore as at that time the car park was shut but it wasn't much effort to drive from M1 to Cockfosters and there was plenty of cheap parking at the station.

Cheers for all the good tips.I've had a look on Google on I'm considering getting on the A5 from the M1 & parking up somewhere off the Kiburn High Rd.I'll get a tube from there.Hopefully I'll be able to find a car park as I'd expect there will be lots of resident parking only type restrictions.Either that or park up further out eg Borehanwood and get the train in.We did that last year when we went to the theatre but stayed the night in Borehamwood.
Really looking forward to it now.Top Gear should be great, especially as I've won the two tickets & get backstage passes and a ride in the stunt cars.

We drove to Earls Court last year and just parked on the street near to Stamford Bridge. There's no congestion charge on a Sunday and we managed to find a space without much trouble.

Whenever I go to LondonI ALWAYS park at Brent Cross. Its literally the last stop on the M1 and there's plenty of free parking. I always park here and then walk to the tube station. Its only a 30 second walk.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

    What, even on a Sunday?
