Dear forumers, got a question/need help for you.
Today I got a parking fine from Reading Council for parking on a kind of unusual, unmarked spot-part of payment. Ticket says contravention had occured: "Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours."
I was parked on a island like part of street with no signs except double yellow on the road.
I was not obstracting either pavment or an entrance somewhere. Parking officer was there and could not give me proper answer me why he issued a ticket. He said there is a double yellow line that is why.
See the pictures below and advise should I dispute the ticket or not?

and from rear

appreciate all responses.

You crossed a double yellow line to park there, I think they treat this the same as parking on a double yellow. We have a similar situation at work.0

Just on the other end of the street had a parking bays which required crossing as well, why that is not a contravention?0 -

Thanks robpw2, I know it is illegal to park on pavements and the ticket does not say that. The issue is not parking on a pavement it is about getting a PCN which says parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours.
Do not you think I can dispute it and win the case?0 -
It looks like those other cars on the hotels property and not actually on the pavement. I am surprised the warden didn't try his luck anyway with blue peugeot.0

I think they would say the DL's cover all the carriageway from boundary to boundary (or middle of road if different on the other side) Copy and post the pcn after removing incriminating details first. The experts would then be able to advise.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Here is the actual PCN0
