Weird site glitch? (groundhog day)

I've been trying to log in for ages and each time I do, I get the 'thanks for logging in' page then it refreshes to the first page where I was when I tried to log in......and I'm not logged in.
Tried several times but same thing happens. It's happened on and off for a few days now but this morning was particularly bad.
Also, the 'new posts' button was showing posts up till 10.06am and 10.07am, and nothing after that, even although it was probably 11.06/07am. Spooky....I could almost feel the tumbleweed.
Refreshing, running CC, deleting cookies etc has had no effect.
Windows XP/I.E.8/Pipex btw.

About 20 to 10 minutes ago, I tried 4 or 5 times to reply to a post with a quote of it, but the window was blank before I started writing.
Then I noticed that when viewing the board, both the number of posts and poster and time of last post shown for the thread I'd been looking at were wrong; about 4 posts missing on the summary, though they could be read in the actual thread
In fact, viewing the front page of the forum, it seems that the last updates were in the few minutes after 10 am. The same on about 4 boards, even though I'm sure I pressed F5 to refresh a number of times for each
I suppose it's quite possible that someone will already have posted a thread about thiis, and I'm unable to see it. I'll do a quick refresh in another window before pressing the button to post this ...
hmmmm, all normal again - was this a figment of my imagination, or some odd transitory glitch on parts of the server clusters (or however the format is described)?
edit: I just pressed Edit here, and was told congratulations, I'd successfully "liked" the thread
p.s. I remember yesterday a couple of searches didn't produce all the expected results, for example looking for all posts by a recent spammer, none were found, though they had not been deleted in the few seconds in between. Now, I search all my posts and this one doesn't come out yet; presumably the indexing takes a bit of time as the whole database gets bigger ...0 -
see my adjacent and cross-posted thread, which I assume they'll merge0

We had the same problems on the comps board, it was frozen at 10:08 for almost an hour. The only way I could view a post was if I was subscribed to a thread with email notification.................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0

I suppose it's to do with the forum upgrades announced for later today, which they've probably already started preparing for ...
I hope not, as that isn't until tomorrow.
But major weirdness (as described) here as well. And I'm on a completely different OS/browser to others mentioned.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I'll budge over, you can sit beside me.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Another problem.....clicking back a page seems to start a loop whereby the page will click back once then no more, it just keeps refreshing the same page after that.Herman - MP for all!0
