Pangas? Never heard of them, and things like that make me glad I haven't!
I would never buy fish anyway unless it's a well known type (cod, haddock etc) regardless of cost. Lets hope I can trust my local chippy not to use it - it was rated the best in England so I should be OKMale.

No shop is going to sell fish that they know will make people sick!
The article seemed a bit ott. Almost a bit "Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide".....0 -
They do sell Vietnamese River Cobbler at Tesco.
And, haven't some chippies been in trouble recently for selling it as cod?0 -

I'm not entirely convinced of the validity of the particular link you posted, mostly because it seems to be a personal blog and a little hysterical over food. Plus, they seem to be talking about one specific source of these fish, which seems a little specific for a general warning. The argument about the fish being fed with fish matter is completely specious as that's what pretty much all fish eat - the 'parallel' with BSE is scaremongering as there isn't a correlation between feeding cows to cows and feeding fish to fish - for a start there are thousands of species of fish!
Is there any official evidence that any source of this fish is dangerous? This blog, well-intentioned though it may be, doesn't hold any authority to my mind and not necessarily giving the full picture.0 -

I'm not really sure what youn mean - I can find plenty of evidence from reputable sources about Mekong River Contamination, but nothing to link this with the earlier post about the Panga fish. I'm not saying there's not a potential problem, just that I would like to see some more evidence from a source other than a blog before writing this all off as a bad idea. Do you have any links specifically about the panga which come from a health authority or government body responsible for warning the public? If things are as bad as the blog made out then we shouldn't be relying on people seeing it here for a start - surely the authorities would be involved?0

the blog as you have read says that the fish are farmed in the river, thats the link,
governments/companies have often turned a 'blind' eye to some things because of money, remember'thalidomide' years ago and how long it took for the truth to out,
