Morning everyone
We're still getting reports of some forum regulars being critical on here when a post is placed in the "wrong" place.
Please don't be. The freebies board is one of the friendliest and happiest on the forum. If we see it continuing the forum team will have to take action with those that are doing the criticising/forum policing.
There's no such thing as a "wrong" place to post something - if people will get more responses to their posts on this board than elsewhere then that's fine.
Please also remember that neither the forum team (abuse@) nor board guides read all threads on the forum so please don't expect them to. Comments about inconsistency are irrelevant because the forum team only see threads that are reported to them. If you haven't reported them then they've not been seen.
If you really feel a subject posted could get a better response for the OP somewhere else then by all means send the link to one of the volunteer board guides, but bear in mind they will look at it when they're around and have time and that if they disagree with you they won't necessarily move it.
If you feel a post is abusive then please report it to the forum team at [Removed by Forum Team] as usual.

I think it's sad when you and others feel like this, lew. We could all be missing out on some great finds because of a few people who scare people off posting. The freebies board is often the first port of call for new members when they join MSE, so as Andrea says, we want to keep it friendly and welcoming. 0 -
Also alot of members will get annoyed at duplicate postings from newbies, however if instead of simply saying its been posted here, remind them a URL search will help them a lot more.Bstuff

well said, i have been told in not so nice ways before to and i have been put off posting certain things. if ever i see something posted twice or in wrong place i just point them in the right direction.
there is no need to be nasty at all as we're all here for the same reason and thats to get some great deals and save money.have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving0 -
I agree. I have recently left another forum for being criticised about posting in the wrong thread. TBH it all got very nasty. I would hate that to happen here...we are all human and can easily make mistakes.0
