Clear my debts in 12 weeks!

Thanks to advice from whitewing, I've decided to do a diary to keep me focused on getting debt free in 12 weeks.....which will be Friday 4th December!!!
Trouble is, to do this I would have to use my entire surplus income on overpaying into my loan, meaning no money to myself (other than for essentials).
To do this I would need to stop going out drinking; don't get me wrong I'm not an alcoholic, but I do like to get out once a week, usually a Saturday night. However... this weekend I broke the habit of a life time and stayed in all weekend!!! Which I'm pleased about because it has maximised my surplus income, plus I woke up this morning hangover free - woo hoo.
So...I managed this week, lets see how the next 11 go....hopefully you lot can give me a good kick up the bum if I start to slack!
Will keep updating regularly, P.S. What a good feeling it is to be actually taking action to improve my life and what a good feeling it is to think of all my mates down the pub drinking away their hard earned cash, whilst I make maximum use of mine and benefit by feeling healthier aswell :j

Ahhhh. Found you again! Great new diary. Now, as we're nosy folks here, why not tell us a little about yourself. Then we can try and support you in a way that will actually work for you.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. A bit about myself; I had my light bulb moment after I split up with my then girlfriend in Feb '07. Basically I felt like my world had been turned upside down (I wont go into things too deeply but you get the picture). So...I looked at my life and how I could make it better. One of the things I looked at was money, which brought me to this site. Up until then I had looked at money matters flippantly, never thinking about how much of my wage I was spending and just hoping it would all be ok. However it was this approach to money that landed me in debt. So... I got up to 10k and thought I better take a grip on things. Since then I have paid off a substantial amount of my loan and fully repaid my overdraft. This was achieved by simply cutting out non-essential spending and cutting back on things that I could save on.
So... I'm now potentially 12 weeks away from debt freedom and Im going to really push myself for this last bit of the journey. Im 25 now and hoping that my debt free date will coincide with the new year and make a great start to 2010!!! woo hoo.
So, today is a boring day at work, but its this work that will get me where i want to be, so must persevere!!! Havnt spent a penny today and dont intend to. Anyway must get back to it, no rest for the wicked!!! thanks for reading, joe.Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -

It's been easy today as I've been at work, so no temptation to spend
I need ideas of how I'm going to fill up the weekends, since I am now staying out of the pub where all my mates are...so it would have to be something I can do on my own...any ideas??? I've got an xbox 360 that fills up some time, there's the TV, I do weights 3 times a week (note: I got the gym equipment given to me by my cousin, top moneysaving) and I listen to Leeds United on the radio every Saturday afternoon. But what else is there? Hmmmm....:huh:Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -
Sounds like a bit of a healthkick could be a good idea?
Will your mates put pressure on you to go to the pub? (A healthkick could be a good excuse, if you don't need them to know you're clearing debts).
Some of the people on the Live on £4K thread are doing a version of this:

Thanks for the idea whitewing, but unfortunately I am a smoker, which doesn't go with running
BTW, how do I change my user name? I can't find how to do it anywhere...Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -
You won't be able to change your user name.
Cutting down smoking would help clear your debts! (You knew I would say this). I've always been too tight to smoke, except the occasional cigar if I am very drunk.
