Firebelly FB2 Wood Burning Stove help please

Hello, we have decided to take the plunge and put in a woodburning stove. We both quite like the Firebelly FB2 and was wondering if anyone out there had one? Or any modern looking 10kw or above stove. Would you recommend them? Where is the best place to buy one from? We are in Lancashire. Any help or advice would be appreciated. We are new to this and its an awful lot of money if you make a mistake. Thanks

Hi chaps, we have just had a Firebelly FB2 double sided and am pretty pleased, it looks good but I was hoping for some advice on a couple of issues (I don't suppose anyone knows of any user forums). We've only used it a couple of times and unless I open up all the vents the heat output isn't that great, when they're all open it gets through logs like crazy, when I shut it down a bit the glass goes brown ... I'm sure there's a steep learning curve with these things but any advice would be great. Thanks Roger

I suspect your logs are not dry enough. Most of the heat is used boiling off the water.
Try some really dry wood. Get a good fire going to start with, this will heat the flue up. Then try turning the vents down gradually, Make sure the any bottom vents are shut first.
It will take a while to get used to it but your starting point has to be well seasoned and dry logs.

Thanks so much for that - I'll try getting that sorted. Have a good Christmas - Roger
