Hsbc overdraft help?

just wondering if anyone knows or can advise me about what i should do, Ive recently changed bank account from hsbc to lloyds tsb purely because they used to be really flexible with my overdraft but since this credit crunch malarky they havent leaving me over my overdraft limit (when previously i couldve temporaraly increased it) and charging me for it and as each month went by i got deeper and deeper in.
ive moved all my dd etc to tsb and have made it through this month still in credit
the problem ive got is im £692 overdrawn on a £700 overdraft with hsbc i was hoping to put £50-100 per month in until its paid off but ive got another £175 of charges coming on the 18th so no doubt ill be charged again for those charges:mad: ive sent the letter to reclaim the charges which has been acknowledged and ill have to wait for the outcome.
all i can think of doing is asking the bank to close the account and let me pay whats owed monthly also would closing the account effect my overdraft fees claim
any ideas about what i should do would be welcome

You will be charged £25 from HSBC I suspect.
Not sure any other charges apply in this case.
Be careful though as they could cancel the overdraft and end up doing your head in with debt management people etc.etc. but thats only last resort type thing.0 -
You don't get charged on charges so though this charge (surely £150 not £175 as £150 is the maximum?) will come out and take you over your agreed limit, as long as you don't have any further transactions on the account you should only have interest charged next month, not an overdraft fee.0
