First neg & really annoyed

Got to 573 feedback and now got my 1st neg

Sold some jeans for £2.99 that cost me £15, that didn't bothered me. I've lost weight so wanted rid of them.

Get a message to say they have a hole in the bum at the back pocket.

I replied apologising as never noticed it as only been worn a few times and that i wouldn't of on purpose missed out mentioning if a hole was noticed etc.

I said id refund winning bid. They asked if postage would be refunded, at which i said no and asked if the hole was repairable or was it big.

No reply and they gave me a neg.

I have no evidence on whether the hole is tiny, medium, big etc.

Why didn't they just reply to what the hole was like?

I've sent a message asking why they gave a neg so quick and weren't prepared to work something out, with an ex being sending a pic through of the hole and a partial refunded being given.

Just seems so silly to get a 1st neg like this.

The 'no' to the return postage might have been the bit that upset him.

i'll be honest and say i would have pushed for the picture without confirming any refund conditions.
if the pic showed a hole i would have just refunded given the low value

Well i wasn't that blunt and replied 'no' when asked if id refund the postage.

I put that upon receiving the jeans back only the winning bid would be refunded, then asked what the hole was like.

    Never replied.

Sent messages about partial refund upon pic of hole, no reply.

Sent feedback revision request, with message saying, please send through a pic of the hole and we can come to an agreement of a partial refund.

Buyer declined saying 'feedback left was accurate'

Part of me wants to leave her feedback saying 'enjoy our bargain jeans, that you won't prove if they have a hole in them' but then can't be bothered to give her another + on her score when she doesn't deserve it.

Can you reply to the paypal dispute including paypal/them (sorry never had to do it before) saying you will offer them a refund on receipt of the item and ask them to supply a tracking number?

It seems odd that even though you were being co-operative they've given you a neg :( no seller protection on ebay :(
  • I don't know how to reply on paypal.

I sent a message through ebay to them, saying i didn't know how to corrspond through paypal so was sending a message through ebay.

Now the paypal dispute from them says 'Have received 5 emails from them in the last hr, anymore and i will consider it harrassment'.

So how am i mean't to come to an agreement now?

I've bought loads of stuff on eBay and have never given anyone a Neg however I would have given the OP a Neg if I'd been the buyer of those jeans. In UK culture and law the interests of buyer and seller are not evenly matched, the buyer has certain rights one of which is to get what they've paid for. In this case the jeans apparently had a hole in them when received. Even if you suspect the buyer is lying, a 'no quibble' refund including postage should have been given. If the OP wanted the jeans back then return postage should also be refunded. Only if a buyer wants to return something simply because they don't like it is there a case for negotiation of some kind. Take the Neg and move on.
  • How can i let them return the jeans now though when they have said in the dispute that cos of my 5 emails in the last hr, anymore and they'll consider it harassment.

So i can't send a message can i telling them to send them back for a full refund....
