Help to hunt down double oven

After much to-ing and fro-ing and trying to decide, we're getting a double oven. Except 'him' doesn't want knobs and wants electronic controls.
I want energy efficiency and we both need self cleaning, preferably not too expensive!
Hunting high and low, the only one I found that almost fits the specs is one at John Lewis.

Are there any others to consider before I get this?

Yes Neff! Have a look at comet auctions, they often have double ovens like this one... but I suggest you bid at the last minute...

I have been looking at this JL oven myself
it seems really good value and looks nice
too.
If you go for any other brand try these
electrical123 or Jual for good prices.
Dont think you can go wrong with JL
as their after sales is very good:j:j:j0 -

errr
the specifications says no knobs?
Also we'd need a built under one not a built in one.
anyone else please?0 -
OP - you say you want self-cleaning but the one you linked to itsn't a self cleaning oven. Catalytic liners aren't self cleaning, they are just easier to clean. For a self cleaning you need a pyrolytic oven. And I am not aware of any built under (or even built in) double ovens that have a pyrolytic function, due to the constraints of the doors mechanisms and seals...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

guessing we'll be living with that then
Thanks for that, just what i wanted to know0 -
The ones on Neff are sunk in so you just push them out...and certainly a better appliance than JL one which is repackaged Zanussi/Electrolux (which I had and really no comparison to Neff), but really up to you!0

are you saying you can change the built in to a built under?
If that's possible then yes, I'll consider everything, I just thought there would be different specs.0 -
Hi
Built in double ovens go into a tall unit and measure about 890 mm tall where as built under doubles go under the work surface and are 720 mm tall, all of this reduction in height is lost from the main oven so you end up with 2 small ovens.
To be honest I wouldn't have a built under double oven as they are always a compromise. You get a far better oven as a single oven, then you can have all of your requirements especially the pyrolytic cleaning system.
Oven manufactures concentrate on their single ovens as this is the most important product they sell, all double ovens are an after thought especially built unders.
Good luck.0 -

OP, try a De Dietrich oven.0
