Economy Gastronomy - new budget cookery programme; BBC

I caught the trailer for the show the other night and it looks a good prog :j Different families or groups of people will feature each week and 2 chefs will show them how to spend less, but still eat well on a budget.

The show airs on BBC2 on the 5th August (don't know what time though yet!)

I just looked on the BBC website and it's billed as "the cook's answer to the credit crunch" and the 2 chefs who'll be presenting the show are Allegra McEvedy and Paul Merrett. That's all the news they've got at the mo!

I worry that it will all be fancy stuff that I just don't eat. I want good, solid, easy meals that will freeze well.

Thats a bit weird because I did a search earlier on the Radio Times website and it only gave me the one programme, the BBC obviously don't know its a series

I think Hardup Hester is right, we could probably all do cheaper and better.

I'm don't trust journalists or the media AT ALL so I'll be checking the progs and book to see if any of the recipes are from OS :rotfl:

Thriftlady - have you bought the book yet :D
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
