Thumbs down 4Cheapcds.com Poor Service

Hi,

This is my first post so please be gentle. I ordered a CD from this website on 28th March and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Now, I know the CD comes from abroad but it should have arrived by now (they say it should arrive within 4-5 days on the site). I sent 2 emails to sales@4Cheapcds.com and 1 to 4cheapcds@email.emv1.com (I received a special offers email from this email address yesterday!!) but with no response.

What should I do as they didn't waste any time removing the money from my account and I can't find a telephone number for them on their site. I did order a CD from them a while ago without any problems, however this poor service makes me weary of ordering from them again.

Thanks

Hello again (talking to myself)

I'm still waiting for this CD to arrive and I am not happy! I have send yet another email to them as I have now waited for the 15 days they say before it is classed as lost. Whether I receive a reply from them is another thing as they have not responded to the last three emails I sent them.

What should I do if they don't respond? I bought the CD on my Visa Debit card not my credit card can I do a chargeback? Has anyone used 4Cheapcds lately and had any problems?

Hope someone can advise.

Thanks

I don't think you can do a chargeback on a debit card, but I would check with your card provider to be sure.

You could cancel the order as they breached the term to deliver within the set time period - just make sure their t+c don't allow them to extent it.

You could just buy it elsewhere and use their refund policy to get a refund when it finally does arrive.

You could wait and make a complaint once it arrives and hope they give u a discount on your next purchase.

Sorry to hear of your trouble. I am surprised as I have used them and received my cd in 5 days. I had also e-mailed them this week over an e-mail where the wording was slightly misleading, and had a reply the next day. That was with the emv1 address. I was going to use them again, but not so sure now. Let us know if you have any joy. It may be worth explaining to your bank about the problem and seeing if they will refund as a goodwill gesture. They could always try and contact the company to get the money back.

Thanks for the reply. You are the same as me- I used them once before and received my CD 5 days after ordering. That's why I decided to buy another from them however I still have not received it. Emailed them yesterday to ask for a refund but with no response. I know they have read at least one of my emails as a I got a read receipt the other day. When I tried to use the emv1 address mine came back as undelivered???

They have an address but no number on their website do you think I should write them a letter? Otherwise it looks like I will have to go to my bank and complain to them- even though it's not their fault. Hopefully they can help.

As a result of this problem I won't be using 4Cheapcds anymore and wouldn't recommend them to you despite their prices. In this case cheap CDs appears to equal cheap service!

Isn't the address in Singapore? There is one other possible option before going the long road through the bank. With me always having a reply, you could e-mail me off group at capyslists@gmail.com with the basic details, and I could try e-mailing on your behalf to try and get some sort of response.

I ordered a cd from them a while ago and never received it, so after many e-mails sent i finally got my money back. I definitely will never order from there again.

Sorry to hear you had the same problem. How long did it take you to get your money back? How long did it take you to get a reply from them? I have emailed them at least four times and I'm still waiting for a reply. Like you I won't be using them again in a hurry.

Thanks for the reply, I'll email you with the details later. I checked my email today and I have another email read receipt but no reply. They have this UK address listed on their website (http://www.4cheapcds.com/Home/About.aspx):

4CheapCDs
1200 Century Way
Thorpe Park Business Park
Colton
Leeds
LS15 8ZA

Can't find a number though.

Did you ever get this CD? Just wondering as from your posts you seem to be worrying by not getting a reply from them. I wouldn't worry, companies like this get 000's of e-mails a day so they will get back to you eventually.

I did email them on Spooks behalf and got a reply with apologies, and that they would contact Spook. I asked Spook to let me know if and when he received his CD but didn't hear anything other than thanks for contacting them. Don't know if he/she is still around to say, as this is around a year ago now.

Hi,

Sorry to bring back such a old thread, but I too have made an order with 4CheapCD's (DVDS actually!) and although the site says it arrived, nothing has and after my third unanswered email I'm rather annoyed.

Also even more upset to see that the address above in Leeds is a Virtual Office, where they just have their post sent there

Are we customers not protected in anyway from this sort of thing?

Is there anything I can do?

I work on the Thorpe Park complex, at 3200 Century Way!

Thorpe Park (Leeds) Ltd Andrew Crowther
andrew.crowther@sdgroup-plc.com
0113 380 1710

Might be worth giving that guy a ring as I think he is kinda the coordinator for the park? He might know the number or at least a named contact for 4CheapCD's?

I've looked at the map and know where 1200 CW is but can't remember what company it is off the top of my head!

I know it's a virtual office but it might be worth a shot. Regus are the company that occupy 1200 and they may be able to give out someone's contact at 4CheapCD's?

Thanks but I have already called Regus, they do not have any other contact details.

I'm gonna call my bank now.

Some goodish news it seems.

Although payment with a debit card online is not covered with any insurance, they have told me that if my contact with the store is fruitless, then I can come into the branch and request a Debit Card Dispute form, where the bank then takes over and tries to get teh money back.

Its not 100% but at least it may put pressure on them to refund me.

I bank with the Halifax but I assume all banks have this.

Well, finally, after 4 letters of complaints and 4 weeks of wating, I finally got a response.

Quote:
Hi,

we're sorry about this, unfortunately we didn't receive any previous e-mails frm you, in addition nothing has been sent to you.

We have now issued a refund for this order.

Kind Regards
John
Didn't receive any emails???

I think they meant to say "We have ignored all the other emails except when you said you would seek legal advice and the bank would seek the money back!"

I've written back to say I think as a good will gesture I should be sent the Spider-man 3 Blu Ray and get my refund considering it was supposed to be a Christmas present and I've waited so long, but I don't expect anything back.

I'm now posting these details on all the forums that I go on to make sure no one else has to suffer the same problems we do.

Default wrong item sent from 4cheapcds

I have also ordered a DVD from 4cheapCDs, but they have sent me the wrong one (i ordered little britain series 1 but they have sent me series 3.) I don't want to have to pay the postage to send it back and I am also wary that if I do, I won't get a refund or the correct item.
I should have checked the reviews and noticed the fact they dont have a phone number i suppose!
Anyone else sent anything back (successfully or unsuccessfully?)

good news - i received the correct item in the post this morning, so now I have both - they must have realised their own mistake!
