Any hints for saving money on excursions etc in Menorca as we are off there next wk and know its going to be a lot more expensive than the last time we went when we were getting 1.41 to the £!. Any tips gratefully received.

ditto. i'm off to majorca for the first time in the next month so wouldnt mind some tips on how to save money.. apparently its quite expensive over there in general let alone the rubbish exchange rate

One tip, in McDonalds happy meals they normally have discount vouchers for the visitor attractions. Not much use if you don't have kids, or don't eat McDonalds, but hopefully helps someone

Anybody tried pricing a hire car over there? Appartently there is a severe shortage of vehicles this season and consequently rental prices on the few available have shot up.:eek:

Normally you can find the cheapest car hire using travelsupermarket.com which is a search site. 2 weeks in Majorca (early Oct) has cost us approx £210 for a car for 4 adults and luggage.

Hi has anyone been to Menorca recently and knows what the exchange rate out there is - was thinking i might get a few more cents actually changing in resorts than the banks here?

hi i always change currency in resort as you normally get a few cents more on the £ dont use airport or hotel exchange as these are the same as uk go into the town and ask how much they will give you for £100 and then you can work out the rate also look out for no commission shops but deffo ask how much you actually receive before you hand over money happy holidays:rotfl:

I was in Majorca in May and did not find it expensive. The public transport is reliable and good value.
