what to do with spare unused nappies?

after having a clear out yesterday, got some unused nappies from my DS, which i originally put away for DD they are the Size 6 Pampers - but she is to little, also I bought some of those huggies potty training pants - (pink ones) but for some reason DD always gets a rash with huggies products.

Rather than just throw them away as nappies are expensive enough to buy anyway - any suggestions as to what to do with them?

please dont suggest having another baby says my OH!!!! :rotfl:

I suppose I could ask at a parent/toddler group if someone wants them.

  • Depends how altruistuc you feel! I'm sure you could sell them on at toddler group - or does your daughter go to a playgroup? At the one I help with we often get mums giving us the last half pack of nappies before potty training and its really useful as we have a fair amount of children in nappies and as we charge very low fees and a large number of staff are volunteers - its lovely to be able to spend money on toys/materials rather than on nappies!

What about a womans refuge, or as is mentioned above a playgroup or nursery. Or maybe even a charity shop?

Oops! I thought you meant the terry towelling ones! (showing my age!:o )

Was ready with a list of things to make from them:

training pants for toddlers (My Mum really used to do this)

dye them and use as guest towels and flannels (you did say unused)

Cut up and use as floorcloths or dusters

Make into covers for ice skating blades

Pop into golf trolley for wiping clubs

    Sweat towels for the gym

use in the greenhouse/garden for wiping muddy hands on

make into a kneeler for gardening

Ok I'll get my coat!

Do you know anyone with a baby/toddler?

I had a clear out a couple of years ago and found a pack of nappies and a packet of wipes. I gave them to a young Mam I know who is struggling on benefits. She was thrilled to bits with them! Given the cost of nappies, I'm sure most Mam's would be pleased to get a freebie.
Here I go again on my own....

well so far ive tried neighbours with kids, but they are finished with them aswell, I'll ask at the school tomorrow.

As for the HM menstrual pads - very good - like that one!!! hee hee

PS; OH is very disappointed with the answers so far - knowing this OS board, he was expecting something like cleaning cloths, or cooking in the SC with some veg!! or padding for HM cushions!! ha ha (i know OS is good, but surely there's only so much you want to do with a nappy!) :rotfl:
