Ive just reduced my hours to avoid an ipa , how will the OR react????

Hi , I decided to start a new thread on this , I have just had my child tax credit increased by 70 a week , I have reduced my working hours so I avoid an ipa
It is obvious to the OR that I that is the reason , do you think she will frown upon this and maybe put me on an ipa?

Possibly more like a BRO, and suspended discharge could be a possibility too. OR's don't take kindly to being messed with.

With reduced hours and a reduced income, your tax credits are likely to drop as well. You MUST tell tax credits about your change in income and hours.

Realistically, there is little your OR can do. They can give you a BRU/O for deliberately trying to avoid an IPA so you need to word carefully to your OR about why you have reduced your hours if they ask.

A bit confused cos I just answered/asked a question on your other thread. Did you not realise that dropping your hours would affect all your other benefits as well? I can understand not wanting to get an IPA but surely compared to being able to write off all your other debts it's a small price to pay?

And with things the way they are in the employment market, do you really want to be messing about with your hours? It just seems a bit short-sighted to me

surely an ipa wouldnt be to bad if youre income has only gone up by £70 a week? you'd still be in a better position than before?
and possibly now youve reduced your hours you child tax crdits might drop back down aswell.

With reduced income, wouldn't tax credits increase? I only ask because the less DH earns, the more we get. Perhaps this only applies to WTC.

I guess some of them might increase but it will have a knock-on effect - what you get given with one hand, they take away with another generally

I don't usually make a comment about this sort of thing in a negative way on the Bankruptcy Board as I know this board is for advice but I think in this case I would be justified in saying that the OR will probably (and should) give you a BRO unless you have a damn good reason to reduce your hours. Many people pay IPAs and they are a good thing. it means that people do actually pay back a reasonable amount of money. I pay £324 a month. I don't see why I should continue working full time and paying this much when people like you (and there are others out there who do it) reduce their hours and then get away with paying nothing. If people start fiddling this system left, right and centre then it just means the honest ones may end up paying more as the OR may start getting disgruntled and start disallowing things which may have been allowed previously. sorry if this is seen as ranting but I just felt it was rather too important to let go.

I'm sorry that you are offended that youre having to pay this amount when others are not , I dont wish you to have to pay this.I did ring up the insolvency service helpline before going bankrupt and they told me they dont care whether I do the overtime or not , just that they want half of it if I do.
There are those who would question why people like you(bankrupts) are only paying 324 pound a month when they are having to pay back the full amount of their debt.I think there are a lot of hypotheticals in your argument that the ORs are going to throw a wobbly and start disallowing this that and the other.
I wouldnt have anything against a fixed amount in principle ( say a 100 pound a month for 5 years) , but what benefit is there for me to work all the hours God sends . I cant keep any reasonable percentage of the money , they will take most of it
Anyway sorry once again , you are not personally out of pocket because of me.
What about the greedy fat cats , the MPs the bank bosses , my tax money spent on nuclear weapons (7000 million) , which will never be fired , wars in other countries , I'm bankrupt , I havent got a penny to my name , why do people always look to the bottom of society (wealthwise!) when they are searching for someone to blame for the world problems.
