This just happened and I HAD to share with you guys, its more than I expected.
Last year OH & I called T-Mobile to advise them that I wasn't getting much use out of my £20/month tariff & we wanted to make me Pay-as-you-go. Well, last year they told us that was no longer an option & put me on a UFix plan for £5/month. That included 300 off peak minutes & 30 texts. It is very very good, granted, but technically I just dont use it that much, & I was still paying for the few calls I make during the day. (I know its odd for someone to use their mobile so little, but I work with my husband who has an excellent plan & so I can often use his. Mine is really only necessary for emergencies)
A month ago we realised that they DID in fact stick with Pay-as-you-go, so we called T-Mobile who told us to call back when my tariff was up. On Tuesday.
We did, & advised we wanted to go to Pay-as-you go. Meanwhile, we advised the girl that we thought we had been misled. She became beligerent & defensive, asking what we wanted her to do about it. She shouldnt have, because I write letters.
We immediately fired off a letter to T-Mobile, header COMPLAINT, letting them know that we worry about working with a company that has such rubbish customer service. You wont believe what we got in compensation.
They offered me a choice of either a new phone on the same UFix for £5/month, or the option to to to Pay as you go, Keeping my original number & a £30 credit! My husband is up for an upgrade soon so I didnt want to waste this oppurtunity. So, this is what we got:
They are upgrading my husband prematurely to the Motorola Vi phone for free
They are switching me to Pay as you go, with my original number, with a £30 credit.
(Ill just inherit my husbands Motorola V, which is only 7 months old)
We got £130 worth of stuff, & the contract last year only costed £60 total for the year!! This time, I sent off a letter, header PRAISE, since the rep, Rob, was so good to us.
It's so important to ask!
