Now I'll probably be struck out of the NUJ for writing this. However magazines use a host of marketing tricks to get us to sign up, and often stay subscribed even if we're not reading their magazines.
Yet active MoneySavers can use this to their advantage. There are lots of different types of deals, but most effectively say "sign up by direct debit" and we'll give you three or six mags for free (or for £1). Sometimes you may get a free gift too.
Their aim
Their aim is you forget to cancel the DD whether you like the mag or not, after all a subscribers a subscriber.
MoneySavers aim
Sign up. Read the mag. Cancel the direct debit at the end of the trial and possibly sign up for another trial with the same magazine all over again. Of course we shouldn't kill the magazine industry. Don't repeat this too often. if you are a loyal follower then get your subscription - it's always substantially cheaper than buying it again and again in a newsagents anyway.
More about the list below
Below is a categorised list of magazines with these type of offers, based on information provided from MoneySavers. It's sectioned into subject categories and sub-sectioned into offer types. Of course offers change, so do check the terms and conditions before you sign up.
Please continue to post your magazine spots and periodically (forgive the pun) we'll update this list

I sent an email on Saturday and got the following reply:
Thank you for your email, which will be passed to one of our Customer
Services team. Due to unprecedented demand for magazine subscriptions
over Christmas and the start of the New Year, we are extremely busy in
our Contact Centre. As a result, we may take longer than normal to
respond to your enquiry. However, we do offer ONLINE CUSTOMER SERVICES via
https://www.qualitymagazines.co.uk/youraccount where you can check on-sale
dates, start and expire issues, change your address and confirm the status
of your subscription. Thank you for your patience, we will respond to
your enquiry as soon as we can.

Hi, I'm having zest problems as well. I ordered the magazine in nov. for CK perfume. When it hadn't arrived late dec. rang and was told it would be despatched and to expect anytime. Rang again in Jan and told to expect any time. Received phone call 2nd week of Jan out of stock and given 2 options of current promo or sanctuary bath products.
I agreed to bath products which arrived and had leaked in transit. Rang to complain and was told more bath products on the way. I didn't get them but got some naf "origins Frolic" floral fantasy mist.
Any suggestions of what I should do. Is it worth complaining again. I am just so fed up!0 -

Firstly I think you should give the perfume to me.... lol
But seriously, it is always worth complaining again if you are not happy. You did not get the original deal you signed up for, the least they could have done was replace it with another, current deal and if that was damaged, and unacceptable then again, they should have replaced it, which they haven't done, rather substitute without your knowledge.
By all accounts the customer service you have received has not been good as they have kept getting it wrong. I would either ask for my subscription money back or for the original gift you signed up for to be sent which is all you wanted in the first place.
If you haven't already, try ringing them on the phone number I posted in the reply to Louise.

Well I did get my free perfume, and to be honest it smelled awful on me (I tried it in Boots after I'd paid my sub!), was planning to give it to my mum as a pressie, but dog grabbed it off the kitchen table and now the box has holes in from his teeth - argh!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Got a reply to the mail today re the books: basically they have ran out of Radox bath sets and just sent a replacement. I have advised them I have cancelled the DD and requested a pre-paid envelope to return the books in.0
