Hi
My dad's (oldish) computer won't let him access videos on you tube and hasn't for a few weeks.
the message is
Stress
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
We've uninstalled and reinstalled java and have done our best to update Adobe, but even though the adobe says install completed the animation that is meant to accompany it doesn't appear. The Adobe help centre says something about possible registry problems, but i'm afraid I have no idea what that means.
any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
jiblets.

have you closed the internet browser before you install it?
otherwise - http://support.microsoft.com/gp/howtoscript (i like the way they list how to turn on javascript for other browsers!)0 -
Use the adobe flash removal tool
Update JAVA
Make sure browsers are NOT open
Install adobe flash for internet explorer
or/and
adobe flash for firefox
If that doesnt work then run through the whole process again (except for updating java) and download version 9 instead (look to the right hand side for links):idea:0 -

I had already reinstalled the java and it didn't sort it, and I had tried to install the new adobe, but I needed to use the adobe website to properly uninstall the old one before putting the new one on. That sorted it. So I'd half done the job, but not well enough....Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o
