Thieving Vodafone!!!!!!

Options
Hello all, thought I would post this as a warning to anyone else they try this on.

I agreed a reduced rate (as we all do) 9 months ago for a 12 month contract. This month (month 10 of 12 month contract) I look at my bill to find the discount has gone! I'm back to being charged full whack -

I call them up and the guy says it is because "it's time for an upgrade" and that the discount is only applied for the first 9 months.

Thieving gits, that is not what was agreed!!!! I pointed this out to him and he agreed to give me the credit VERY quickly - This makes me think they do this on the chance that some peeps don't call up to complain and just pay up.

Anyway, just thought I would share and have a bit of a rant.

My main gripe is that all mobile companies are alike, if there was one that had decent service I would actually be willing to pay a little more - instead they are like naughty children who have to be watched constantly for the next problem.

I've always found Vodafone to be excellent: deals as well as customer service.

Apparently they do this so any discount or new tariff is based on your full usage rather than your discounted monthly cost. So you lose in the short term (3 months) but gain in the long term (9 months). Not saying I agree with it...

your due for upgrade anyway so why not just upgrade to a newer deal?!

    i dont get the problem...
  • When I negotiated my current deal, it was 12 months at £13.50. I was very specific and checked that was the rate for the whole 12 months because I know they like to raise the price in the last 3 months. They agreed.

To then just double my monthly cost not only without asking or telling me, but also therefore ignoring the terms of the contract we negotiated is disgraceful! Would they let me half my line rental if I felt like it? Do you not think this is out of order? Seriously, is it just me that finds such actions unacceptable?

If they had called me up to discuss an upgrade, fine, if they had raised the price post 12 months, fine (ish), but to just double my line rental while still in the 12 month contract period! I am so mad!

I have a very similar problem. I agreed a monthly rental of £12.50 on an 18 month contract now they are trying to say it was only a 9 month discount. I know I didnt agree that and I am prepared to take my complaint to the ombudsman if they refuse to honour this.
