"We have been developing a process to provide new line installations on our broadband package MyTalkTalk, we have a team currently in training and will soft launch the service on the 17th March. We are currently planning to communicate full details of the package on the talktalk.co.uk website in April. I can give you some early information though; the installation price will be in the region of £50 for each line. Certain line installations (e.g. to remote addresses) are unlikely to be possible at launch. You can register interest with the sales team on 0800 049 7802 who will take any customers details and call them back once the service is on offer to customers."

Wonder what happens when want to migrate away from TT, could you still use the free "return to donor" or "reverse migration" or would another new line/number be required from BT?.
Is the £50 ish charge across the board for new lines since Openreach only charge the full £88 + VAT (£100 ish) if any plant work needs doing or £2 for a stopped line - http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/pricing/loadProductPriceDetails.do?data=6S7cdneo5MHXjXtW0N1DJVQ14hLhaQkFGHrP9FQAi3yZrG2CsSujUDvDlXyfMBml
Does the £29 connection fee still apply?
Could you then migrate to Virgin cable with these lines.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
Hi Deklan99,
I'll be honest - I dont know the answer to a lot of your questions but I'm in contact with the project manager for this so I'll find out for you. As far as I am aware you would be able to migrate to BT and Virgin as the instalation work will be completed by BT Openreach on behalf of TalkTalk. I'll post back once I get an answer to the rest of your questions.
Cheers

I'd love to sign up for this. I've just got off the phone from BT and cancelled my connection after being messed around by them for the last 2 weeks.
I was initially told that connection would be free, I was then told that connection would be 120 quid and conected on 12th march, nothing happened today so I phoned gain and was told that they weren't connnecting it until 27th.... they have never communicated anything with me and I've had to constantly phone them.... not happy!!!!
Talk Talk Rep. Any idea if this will be countrywide, I'm more than happy to be a gunnea pig for Hereford.0 -
Just spoken to the sales team, they are taking orders from next week,
50 quid for line
16.99 for broadband upto 8meg + line rental
free evening and weekend calls
alternative here is
post office line £107
then 10.72 for line rental
plus whatever your broadband charge, o2 are cheap
they are expecting alot of calls next week so register your interest asap
about time talktalk did something, well done...... now only if it was free for the line installation hehe0 -
OK - some additional clarification to questions asked earlier.
Once you are out of contract a reverse migration to BT will be possible at no cost from TalkTalk. We would recomend you check BTs pricing at the time of moving the line to them - if they are still offering a free reverse migration at this time there would be no cost to move. If you are in contract with TalkTalk the fee would be £70 or the remainder of your contract - whichever is the lesser amount.
We will not be able to offer this service to certain locations because of the additional work required to install the line. You would need to check the address with the sales team to see if we can offer this service. TalkTalk will not charge anything in addition to the one off instalation fee should we agree to instal a line for you.
The one off fee covers the instalation of the line and the connection charge - this fee is looking to be a combined £49.99. To be 100% clear - thats £49.99 for instalation and connection to TalkTalk with an 18 month contract.
It will not be possible to migrate an LLU line to virgin - you would need to reverse migrate to BT first or get Virgin to install a new line.
Any more questions - I'll do my best to answer.
Cheers

Emma
Two questions for you,
Do you have a link to this offer for the Talk Talk website as I couldn't find it anywhere
Secondly I have a Virgin phone line can I keep/transfer my phone number if I move to a Talk Talk line
ThanksJuly 2018 - Now Mortgage Free

Hello Blue70,
The offer is only available to sign up over the phone at the moment on the number in the 1st post. As I'm a company rep I cant post links to TT sites even if I'm asked for them directly!!!
If you have a Virgin number then you won't be able to use it for TalkTalk LLU therefore you would be allocated a new number for the new line.
Cheers

Thanks for the info Emma, just the one about whether the charge is across the board for installations or will TT be doing restarts etc. where there is a dial tone already and it's either free or minimal charge?
What date does the £49.99 become £89.99?
It's a 24 month contract, not 18 months as stated above, what would the penalty be for leaving within that period if different from normal TT contracts?“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
Hi Declan99,
I believe the cessation fee will remain the same - so £70 or the remainder of the contract fees, whichever is the lesser amount. I believe the fee will apply for stoped and ceased lines so if any work is needed at the property or the exchange then the fee would be the same. I've asked for further documentation relating to this today which will help me to clarify both of the points you've raised here. I've queried the date for the price increase now for you too.
Cheers

I periodically look at suppliers who can install lines; the exchange only has BT as the sole supplier, so no LLU, but the service could only be better if front ended by someone else other than BT, at worst, it could be just as bad.
On that note - is it now The Post Office and Talk Talk which still remain the only companies to install phone lines, are there any others I can look at?
We had a dispute with Sky years ago and I'd really rather not give Murdoch any of our money, plus we only want a phone line, not the TV as well.
I know I avoided Talk Talk before as they insisted on direct debit payment which isn't something I'm prepared to do, so my list of potential suppliers had only one company in it.0
